A further update. I took the Pink Panther (as she has now been christened) in for its MoT on Saturday and she passed with flying colours!! A short detour on the way home to avoid roadworks and the M18 just confirmed how much I missed riding her over the winter! I then spent all day Sunday fitting some risers and Clubman style bars (I wanted something a little less leant over) re-routing cables and generally tidying things up a bit. I’ve painted the expansion tank black now and it looks a lot better and have bought the nose piece to go in front of the clocks. That should be here this weekend. I’ve got to work out the best way to fit that and make some mounts before it goes to the painter to match. Then it’s just making a rad protector and cannibalising a couple of tea strainers to fit the mesh into the gaping holes in the frame and she’s done!
Ignore the fact that it’s Cosmic Green, it’s due to go for paint as soon as I can get over to my mate again, but I’m pretty chuffed with the look. It’s never going to fit much better unless I chop it about at the bottom, but I don’t want to do that. Good find for £45 brand new!
So, I’ve finally finished the paintwork! I’ve got a radiator guard to make and a couple of vent louvres to buy to finally do the last bits, but I’m really happy with the result.
