Not much doing as i am stuck waiting for a part that should have come by now so i refurbed the speedo drive and fitted the correct decal today.
Managed to fit the new clutch and primary chain, cover back on along with a drop of fresh oil. I had some reverse cones in the cupboard so fitted them to some new high level exhaust pipes as well.
My 69 T120R i am quids in, Su,s T100C might just break even, Su's T100R thats ongoing might just break even and my TR6C is a loser lol but i do it because i really enjoy it more than looking at money, just lucky i can do all my own work.
Pure Class , money or profit has to take a back seat when it comes to perfection, which in my opinion your builds meet every time. Knowledge like yours needs to be shared with someone of an age to embrace and take on board some of it
Nice if you can get them in boxes as it keeps the cost down, the trouble at the present time is brit bikes have become to collectable and so called restorers are making thousands out of unsuspecting/uneducated buyers, that's how i came by this so called restored TR6C that had major issues, luckily i new i could sort it out and now it's mine
DD How very dare you !!! I'm just hedging my bets while I look On a more serious note be good to learn just some of this Darkmans talent and Knowledge ( and I dont mean feckin black magic or head shrinking. though in your case it may be usefull )
Completely agree but that's not easy DD many of them have no interest at all Though they may stick around enough to pick something up they shouldn't or point it out to others Very chancey
Young people lol, like the one the other day that somehow managed to remove his own ECU and package it up to send off for a tune and then couldn't start his car to go to the post office
I must stop looking at Darkman's threads. Talk about a classy job ..... ! I keep salivating ,which is not a good look and is a danger to the laptop.
DarkMan I stand in awe. Terrific. With people like your self the Brit bike stands a chance of staying alive. I take my hat of to you. Ride Safe Joe.
DarkMan. I have got a question a big question. Do you know a great painter who could take a TSX tank and redo it. I would love someone who could remove the decals and redo or paint them back on. Its just a query so tell me to do one if you like. But had to ask. Regards Joe.
DozersDad. Thanks for that. I have got this TSX and you know I am like a kid with a new toy I just love it to bits and can't wait to ride it properly. I know it will never be showroom but its nice enough now to bear it a little. I am just touching up little bit at present and it needs other bits like stantions going on that Christmas list. Regards Joe.
No one else i could recommend apart from Lewis Templeton who are one of the best classic bike painters, i tend to shy away from doing paint for others just because of the time issues with doing it and the fact i use my friends paint shop and don't want to take the pee.
Started 2nd kick and runs real sweet, sounds great with the reverse cones so now i just have to wait till its cold again to retorque the head. Hope to get Simon to finish the pinstriping this week so i can refit the tank.
