Had to pick up some hosepipe bits for my dad so went the long way (obviously) and got this view up to Coniston. Not sure camera does it justice.
Evening ride around the lanes. View on way to Sedbergh Actually went into a pub and had a brew! First time since what seems like 1874.
That climb used to be known as Scotch Jean’s, supposedly the proprietor of a long gone hostelry at the foot of the hill. From the earliest days of motor transport it was not unknown for heavily laden lorries to reverse up the bottom section......reverse being a lower gear than first! I know the area well having ‘spent time there’.
Every day is a school day! The way you phrased 'spent time there' makes it sound like you were locked up
Well we weren’t allowed to use bicycles or public transport so the day range on foot got well covered! Some great swimming holes in the Lune and Rawthey when no longer being fed by melt water!
Had a very hot ride up the Cumbria coast and into Wasdale. Wastwater looked stunning as usual. To me it is the most spooky looking of the lakes especially in winter.
Run up through Coniston, Ambleside and Keswick. Stopped in Wigton trying to find a brew, what a shit hole! Lovely views from Maryport, apologies for quality, you could see the Isle of Man clear as anything believe me! Back down the West Coast to home. Great day out, chilly start but stunning once warmed up.
Sorry same picture twice. Doh! Called at Wasdale on way home, chaos with tossers in cars. The screes looked moody.
Lovely ride over to Ingleton where I met two Scouse ambulance workers, one on a Duke the other on a Honda, nice guys. Thanked them for all that they do. Lancaster Canal at Carnforth on way home. Day only spoiled by dropping the bike before setting off. Pics on What you been doing with your Triumph thread.
