A little ride this morning. This is a decommissioned radio station that was used to communicate with the former colonies, more specific the Dutch East Indies.
Fabulous photos, Trippy! Thanks for posting them. I'm getting my riding in vicariously these days and these photos really made me smile.
Sunny but cold here in Michigan earlier this week, felt great to get out amidst all the madness going on out there.
Great photo and a beautiful bike, @Spspeed! I'm a Speed Triple owner, too, I'm itching to get out on my Speedy to get away from the madness for a bit, but am not able to ride yet due to a bicycle accident. Put in a few miles for me! Stay warm. I'm also a Midwesterner like you but from Minnesota not Michigan. Now I hail from Arizona. Are those Motogadget mirrors on your bike??
I dig mine, too! Mine are the "Blade" model. They are small but mighty. Which model are yours? Here are a few pics of my bike that show the mirrors. You'll have to zoom in on the full bike pics but can get a good view of the mirrors.
@Sandi T. I love that 3rd picture. gives me uncontrollable urges to get out! Hope your recovery is going well and soon back in the saddle.
Thanks, @Dawsy! This is one of my favorite pictures of my Speed Triple. It was taken on Mt. Lemmon around Milepost 9 which is probably around 7000’ In altitude. It makes me want to get out and ride, too! My recovery is going OK, especially my pelvis/hip. But my physical therapist and I got a little overzealous with my elbow PT and I have angered my ulnar nerve. So my surgeon instructed me to back off or otherwise risk needing a second surgery. I’m trying hard to be patient. But I truly miss riding. I will certainly appreciate it even more than I always have once I’m able to be back in the saddle again! Hope you’re able to get out for a little moto therapy in spite of all the craziness right now!
Finally got out for a bimble .been waiting for months since getting this lovely thing. Hopefully get out again soon , wait n see what happening with the whole Corona thing
It’s a terrific road, @MadMrB! About 25 miles from base to the summit. I’ve never even counted how many curves. Beautiful road quality. Mr. Lemmon is a true staple of the Tucson riding community, both motorcycles and bicycles.
Thanks for the info @Sandi T. and continue being patient. Look how far you have come! I am aiming to get out on my Speedy this weekend. Best therapy there is!
Thanks for the encouragement to continue being patient, @Dawsy! It helps. And it also helps to look at how far I've come. Two months ago I was in a wheelchair and couldn't walk a step. And two months +3days ago I'd just had elbow surgery. Yesterday I went for a one hour walk on the river path with nary a limp and just a wee bit of pain and limping both during and after. I do have to say that a weird "silver lining" of this COVID-19 shut down for me personally is that I feel a bit less on a deadline for recovery. I've been aiming to be ready for our big June motorcycle trip up through New Mexico, Colorado, and Utah. But it's truly starting to look like things will still be shut down here. So now I have less of a "need to be healed by" date in mind. That said, I REALLY REALLY want to get out and ride. It's one of the few activities that I enjoy that's not "closed for business". And for me--and it sounds like for you too--riding some of the best therapy going. Hope you get out for a lovely ride on your Speedy this weekend!
Thanks, Trippy. When I opened the box they came in I was stunned at how small these mirrors were and thought they couldn't possible work. But I can see quite fine with them and love how "discreet" they are. Plus the shape of them compliments the lines of the bike as well as the paint graphics. All very important stuff.
