Half of them haven't got a clue what's going on around them as it is. Getting them to do something different to every other road user is a recipe for disaster. Until they're compelled to have and use lights, PPE, train and qualify to ride a bicycle on the road and have 3rd party insurance best leave things as is. There'd be casualties and motorists blamed otherwise. Got to ask, have you been having a little 'toot' on some herbs?
72 hours later and Bateby45 remains silent. The grenade was rolled into the room and....................................
Hopefully he's not in Hospital catching Covid after having ridden his bicycle on the wrong side of the road after testing his theory...
The ball has stopped rolling, reply to the US bike safe vid, the cyclist pictured obviously has no brakes, no common sense or courtesy, just like our MAMILs. Your move.....
Since peddle bikes can go about 30mph on level and 60mph down hill I think the closing speed would reduce reaction times significantly. In the UK there is the advisory for pedestrians in the highway code; It may be safer to cross the road well before a sharp right-hand bend so that oncoming traffic has a better chance of seeing you. Cross back after the bend. Imagine coming accross a 30mph bike coming towards you on a left hand bend, or bikes crossing from side to side.

A bit late to the fold on this one but I'll have a go. As someone who cycled to work practically every working day, in ALL weathers, for the last 35 years of my working life I'm sat on the fence, albeit side saddle on the motorists side. I cut cyclists slack and give them room when I meet them on the road wether I'm on one of the bikes or in my planet crushing 4x4. The yellow jersey brigade still get right up my pipe though when they ride 2/3/4....abreast causing carraigeway constipation. As far as the idea of riding on the right, it's a death wish IMO. Not only for some of the reasons mentioned but also because a pedestrian walking on the right might at least have a chance to jump out of the way unlike a cyclist who's a sitting duck.
