OK. I have to ask. The buggered shoulders made you turn down your lovely new Rocket 3, the wonderful Tiger 900 and then that Bandit thing. So how come a Tiger 800 is OK ?
I had the rocket for about 5 months and did 500miles on it My shoulders started playing up at this time but wasn’t the sole reason for getting rid of it I’ve openly admitted elsewhere on the forum that basically I bit off more than I could chew I simply couldn’t enjoy the bike because of the cost involved and it really didn’t suit my needs I made a mistake ........meh The Tiger GT Pro was a great bike and I had a good 4hr test ride and decided this type of adventure bike was much more suited to my needs and what I want from a bike I spent a lot of money I got back from the Rocket 3R specking the bike up with luggage/crash bars etc Things were looking good and I also had a sizeable lump to put back in the bank....happy days Then things went pear shaped quite rapidly My shoulders deteriorated to the point that I basically lost the use of my left arm Could hardly use my right arm Couldn’t even dress myself The Covid shit show meant I never even seen a doctor and have been trying to get treatment over the phone Having been on furlough since the beginning the inevitable then happens and I lost my job Having managed to get some treatment started and being told that I may require surgery that could take anything up to a year to recover It’s at this point I decided to sit and reassess everything Cancelled the GT Pro Put the money back in the bank Concentrated on my shoulders Starting to make headway Got confident enough to start looking for a bike Cut my cloth accordingly and spotted the GSX1250FA with full luggage Went to view and was more than a bit disappointed Started looking again and having already liked the 900 concentrated on the 800 Plenty decent 800 Tigers out there for not a lot of money Found one suitable and done the deal In an ideal world the GT Pro would be in my garage now but things conspired against it happening ....meh Next best thing would be a decent 800 Tiger Woo hoo I got one And life goes on
Nice one Dilli. In the final analysis you don't HAVE to explain yourself, and certainly not with the level of forthright honesty and openness that you've displayed. On a personal note, I'm glad to hear that we've kept you in the Triumph family and that the Suzi was a dog! I hope the relationship with your TWAT continues to flourish for a long time to come. BTW. I do still have for sale a motad stainless silencer and link pipe/hanger etc., for a Tiger 800 ......... just thought I'd mention that in case it's a cue for a new "Dilli does stuff" thread, y'know?
OY VEY! Job - schmob. https://www.thetriumphforum.com/threads/motad-stainless-silencer-and-link-pipe-for-tiger-800.23737/
Just make sure, when you get to the recuperation stage, that the physio sets you lots of TWAT exercises for the shoulder
Nice one Dilli - great looking bike. Let us know how you get on with it - I'm actually considering one of those as a second bike for two up touring... Looks the bill...
