Anyone else concerned at how the “chemical warfare” threat has been brought into the conversation over the last couple of days?
Very. It’s also occurred to me that the ‘nuclear deterrent’ is in fact a ticket to do what you want with your military power.
Yes it is really worrying. I don’t think the general public across the west really understands what it means.
I read somewhere that america had something to do with a chemical facility in the Ukraine under Obama?
The World Health Organization advised Ukraine to destroy high-threat pathogens housed in the country's public health laboratories to prevent "any potential spills" that would spread disease among the population… https://www.reuters.com/world/europ...roy-pathogens-health-labs-prevent-2022-03-11/
It goes back further than that. Remember US use of Agent Orange (toxic dioxin) in Vietnam right through the 1960s? (And apparently the British used it in Malaya in the early 50s.) The Russians aren't the only bad guys. And, of course, poison gas in WW1.
The banning of chemical weapons goes back to the 1920’s.. https://www.un.org/disarmament/wmd/bio/1925-geneva-protocol/
Well it nearly over now. We will still talk about it the Americans will still agitate it and not a thing will be done. Putin has the green light as we are all scared of him and his might. If i were Ukraine i would pull all my workers from the nuclear plants and say you sort it or the whole of Europe and Russia will be a waste ground. Joe.
Well just got back from the Alford Corn Exchange Tea/Coffee morning/afternoon fund raising event for the people of Ukraine. Absolutely packed and queuing outside to get in. Bacon rolls, sausage rolls, cakes, raffle tickets, the whole 9 yards. Well £5000 raised in 3.5 hrs, when we ran out of food. Job well done me thinks.
