Have you been along the awpr? Done it twice and never again. Parts of it must be high and the wind is mental. The ride out to Braemar is lovely huh, I’m heading out to the Cairngorms towards Aviemore this week I think. Quite like the scenic route down past Montrose too.
Been along the Awpr in my car many times for work in a past life, but never by bike yet. Not a fan of wind. Went across the Dornoch Firth a couple of years ago and the wind was so strong it felt like it was going to take my front wheel away. Crossed at about 30mph with a queue of unhappy car drivers behind me i love so many parts of Scotland, my favourite roads with Wales a close second.
Me neither but I find it feels like my arms are going to get pulled put of the sockets anywhere near 3 digits.
im now shopping for a Daytona. That’s my compromise. Roads around Wales are stunningly the valleys have some real good twisties! Next up for me is the Shetland islands.....best take my warm kit
....and a raincoat! Daytona is a lovely bike. I have always loved the old 955i. Which one are you looking at? Btw that is not me
if I find a 675r in good condition with decent mileage il go for that. I’m test riding a fair few different bikes now that the dealerships are open. Some bikes I’m finding so disappointing. It’s been frustrating
I was on the Aberdeen West Peripheral 10 days ago before heading out South through Deeside and over the Spittle of Glenshee on a new to me Tiger Sport 1050. In my opinion it offers the best mix of price, performance, comfort and road manners. Middleweights are fun but just a bit too manic for longer hops.
I just love riding too much to care about comfort Did an 8 day trip through France, Belgium and the black forest in Germany on a Kawasaki 300. It was great fun, but not much comfort involved We ride up and around the highlands pretty regularly. Usually take a week or so. We generally avoid the straight and boring roads, so I have never felt it was uncomfortable on my 675 at the time. Looking forward to it on my 765 in the next few months
I had the 765RS in for its service last week, absolutely certain they fiddled with the suspension at the back as I was out on Thursday over to Cairn O’Mount and I’m sure my dead grandad felt the bumps on my @rse. Awful
that would have been a scenic run out for sure! Iv yet to feel visually attracted to the taller adventure bikes, which is probably a good thing as my little legs would make me nervous every time I came to a stop
That’s my triumph ownership journey over for now. Put the Street RS in for the Kawasaki zx6r. A wee bit of a different bike. all the best guys
I loved the build quality of the triumph, but needed away from the naked bike and couldn’t justify the costs of the Daytona 765. Also struggled to find a 675r in good condition. Was nearly giving up on the middleweights as the Honda and ninja 650’s are so under powered it’s almost upsetting. Then took a 15 plate zx6 out for a spin and was sold. Got this zx6r on a cracking deal. Only at 300 miles but good god it’s rekindled the love for riding. Very similar power band to the RS, zero wind and handles like a dream...once you get used to the low bars
Enjoy the new ride @Hoffnungslos Looks like a lovely bike. Not sure I could deal with the riding position - sore wrists after 30 minutes. Glad to hear you have the love back
