Not so sure as wheel teething problems are requiring quite a bit of work!! As soon as i fix one thing i run into another problem, I now have the front calipers mounted after having the mounts machined but now the rear of the caliper is hitting the spokes !! hopefully we will get at least one ride in this summer
What you doing for air filter? I fancy putting 3 separate pods on my Legend instead of the airbox set up...
Hi DCS222, I did initially purchase 3 separate RamAir filters but after speaking to Ian at Cafe Racer Kits I have opted for his solution instead which i think is much nicer. As the Daytona and Legend share most parts this should work fine on your too. You can see it here - https://www.caferacerkits.co.uk/shop/#!/RamAir-filters-3-&-4-cylinder-options/p/84250622/category=0
Cool, so that unit replaces the full air box set up... will have to do some stripping and drawing... see if it looks right!
Ok so just went to check in on the paint job and the tank was done so grabbed a few pics .... CANT WAIT TO GET IT ALL ON THE BIKE!!
Hoooraayyy I have finally overcome the wheel issues and both front and back are in and spinning .... The overall aim is definitely to build a modern cafe racer and after much fettling I am getting there. New air filter system from Ian is now in too Its a bit of a squeeze and had to reroute the petrol pipes to attache the engine breather but the end result is good! All that remains now is to repaint the calipers (i had to file them down to clear the spokes), get the custom link pipes made (booked in for this next Friday down in Basingstoke) and get the fluids in for a test fire before i get all the bodywork on! Cant wait to get her on the road!
I couldn't help myself and did a sneaky test fit ... I have made the link pipes templates out of pvc piping and am getting them custom made on Friday. Then i can get the exhausts mounted, get the radiator on start filling up the fluids and she will be ready to go. I already love it and cant wait to get her on the road. Quick question for any other CRK people out there - what have you done for insurance??
Used Carol Nash, listed all the modifications and put value of £8000.00. Crashed it two weeks later they sent an assessor and agreed, paid a lieu in notice cash settlement for me to repair which i was very happy with all done in 3 days. Cant recommend highly enough.
So here she is ... Unfortunately i have a small issue with the get change push rod and cant get out of second so my test ride was very short but felt very good. Just waiting for some nice weather and a gear change solution and I will get out for a proper ride and some proper pictures!
I have used a single filter system made by Ian at CRK which works great and yes i have up jetted to 150's. Images are a few posts above!!
