OK so made quite a bit more progress this weekend with a big push to get it all done by the end of the month. Still a few more bits and pieces to do but the main thing is the wheels are on !!!
Guys I have run into a bit of a problem - to clean my carbs i removed all the pipes and blew them apart. They are all back together now but not 100% sure how to route all the pipes. I know the bottom 2 go to the fuel tap but can someone help me with the vac pipe setup please?
Vac pipes at top of carbs, ( 2off ) leave open, the 3 smaller ones on the plastic carb tops have rubber plugs that seal them off
Vac pipe to the back of the fuel tap I'll post a pic tomorrow if it helps but its chucking it down right now
OK so here is my dialemma... I know A and B go to the fuel tap but not sure where C and D go. Then there is E and F Not even the Haynes manual explains so am a bit stuck but am sure plenty of you will be able to show me just how stupid I am being. Typical as this is the only thing i didn't label up on the way out. Many thanks Jonathan
Hi There. A & B Connect together with t piece ( see CRK Manual and then connect to the fuel tap on the tank. E used to be vaccuum to tank not needed now so get another one of the rubber covers same as on the other 2 carbs and blank off. F ignore it just end of casting. C and D are breathers for the carbs that used to go into the original air box.Just leave open. Think that should do it,
Awesome Boothy - cheers mate! Got another day on her today and hope to get most things sorted. Just battling to get the right disks at the moment and waiting for new rad and then we should be good to go.
Thank you so much for this Boothy - just to check I dont need to route C and D away from the engine in case any petrol leaks from them do I?
Quick update: Almost there and just dealing with a few teething problems with the wheels. Turn our i need to shave down the mount points on he brand new calipers I bought to clear the spokes and centre the disks and need a new spacer for the front - all doable but just taking a bit of time. Sorted the disks out too and managed to get some wavy ones from BRAKING that fit perfectly. Body work off to paint tomorrow and hope to have it back by the end of the month!!
Brillant news !! you will be on the road before mines back on the road, waiting for subframe and bits off CRK, refurbing and putting rest back together.
