Excellent idea! No plan works for me, too. Just follow the road, it's about the journey, anyway.

I definitely agree it's about the journey! :) I posted this photo from Sturgis previously but it fits nicely into this discussion. All that said, though, I still need to plan a bit to enjoy my journeys. Even if it's a wee bit. ;) Sigh....

You've got it on your topbox, I've got it on my arm!

Sorry Wim, my Chinese friend translated it for me and Dilli was spot on. Looks like the tattoo artist tricked you. ;)

Much as I like and live by that motto, Vulpes, that's not my top box in the photo. (I don't actually have a top box.) But it sounds like that's actually your arm. ;) Awesome! :grinning:

Well I went and did it. I didn't take my Triumph though so you'd possibly not be interested in the videos, so please don't feel obligated to watch them.
    This was day one:

Sorry, Hippo-Drones...you lost me at "a tent, a sleeping bag, a couple pairs of underwear, and a toothbrush". That is definitely too "bare bones" for me! :p

I suspect this may be one of those opinions where, generally speaking, men and women tend to differ. ;) I don't think I've ever used the phrase nor heard any of my women friends use the term "overpacking". We just say "packing". :joy:

Am an ex submariner, so used to packing light, 1 min in the shower and making a pair of undies last the max duration! :D

EEEK! Even with a good scrubbing in the sink, making a (as in ONE?!) pair of undies last the duration is, uh, well, words escape me. Truly.

Best not to think about it Sandi. It’ll only put you off your meals

An ex USN pilot friend always claims that one pair of skivs will last four days - right way round; back to front; inside out right way round and inside out back to front. I've tried it on long rides and managed a couple of days - but only in the colder weather! ;)
