Yes, that was a brain fart I have sent a request to the dealer to see if they will take the return, if not, I will try to sell them. They are for the newer Bonneville, from what I have found out now. So we’ll see
Another Monday has past, so i got some time in the garage, not as much as I would’ve liked. But, at least I got to try out what I got in the package last time New fork legs, springs and forkseal holders. When dismantling the old forklegs, I found them to be even in worse condition that i thought. Rust all the way down, and the oil had a colour of cacao and thick as porridge So previous owner should not be allowed to own bikes Really struggled to take one of the legs apart, but after some real manhandling it gave in. New legs from LF Harris, progressive springs and forkseal holders. I’m having new springboots made in leather, that will match other leather part that I’m having made as well. More to come next Monday
@Nicholaj I think it would be wise to delete the photograph of the cardboard box with your(?) address on the label. Too many scallywags in this world who would love to know where to find you and your bike. This is an open forum and any low life can get access to it. We, on the other hand, just want to see it finished in all its glory! Be careful out there, it's a minefield!!
Thanks mate, well, not mint yet. just fitting all new products to see if it works, then I will take it apart, paint the fram and everything else that need to be painted. And the engine will be polished a bit more. The workshop is a friends barn that 4 of us keeps together...building my own at the moment, that hopefully will be finished in May.
Thanks for the feedback, you are right...didn’t think of that! But then again, my name and address is in the phone book and also, my workshop and bike is not where i live...but of course, no point in tempting Also looking forward to the finished product, excited to see if its going to look as good as it does in my head
Well, then COVID did it again... New restrictions, we can’t visit other people! And as my Bonnie project is at my friend’s barn, i can’t continue the build for now! Restricted until 18.January! So, while I wait, i can fondle, admire and polish the latest parts I received today...Hope this is over soon...
Finally i got the chance to continue the project They have changed the restrictions a bit, so now i could go visit my friend and the garage Got the exhaust in place, but need to find a way to mount the rear part to the frame...just love those up swift pipes Need to cut the rear fender to size and weld it in place, but can’t decide on how much to cut of...initial thought I would like it to end at 12 o clock, but not sure... Got the clipons in place, with the bar end mirrors...love the look of that as well Had to try with the tank in place, and now i find the tank badges to be too big...considering painted logo instead...need to sleep on that Also, have to make a mounting bracket for the headlight
Glad you like it...more to come Where in the Canary Island do you live? I lived for a year in Arguineguin
It's nice to have something to do that you enjoy. I can't imagine what it's like if you only have the TV to watch. Bike is looking really nice, just the time consuming fiddly bits to do, what colour are you going for?
