Hi Sandi, well that a bit of a bugger isn't it !!!! Stay off bikes, they are dangerous and hurt you. Heal well and take good care not to do anything that will prejudice a full recovery. Love and hugs from Dave & Wendy.
Maybe we could crowd fund you some of these? I just hope you can get some sleep. That can be the worst of bony injuries,
Well Sandi T. It's not going to be ride o'clock for you any time soon! Like many others on here, I feel your pain .... metaphorically speaking. But it sounds like you have great care from great family and are in good hands (and paws?) so I can only add to the get well wishes and wish you a speedy recovery. Maybe I'll pm you a tale or two from my travels just for some light entertainment - I think I did hint at that some time ago but didn't want to bore you .... well, now you're bored, anyway ...... Best wishes for a Speedy (geddit?) and complete recovery.
Sandi T Yes second all the sentiments said by the peeps. And loads of praise to Mr Sandi you are a true Gent. Do look after our story teller. Poor Annie looks concerned as well. And I agree bloody evil things those bicycles that's why I can't ride one. But you get well and on your feet soon. That Triumph won't wait. Pity we weren't closer as we all could take your bikes motorcycles I mean out for a spin just to keep them turning over. Lot Of Love & Hugs Joe.
Sorry to hear this Sandi T and hope you have a speedy recovery. Are you sure Mr Sandi didnt knock you off you bike when you werent looking? Strange things happen when you mention you like the new Rocket!
Crashing always hurts, this sounds like a nasty one. Get well soon, and dont give up on the pushbike. Life can be just as Good from the saddle of anything with 2 wheels!!. Have you heard of the "gamechangers" film on netflix? There may be something to help speed your recovery on there...
Get well soon Sandi. I know too well the pain of being wheelchair bound after an accident. Take solace in the fact you’ve only one arm incapacitated; I had both arms in casts and my left leg strapped up Almost 3 months before I could even scratch my own bum!
I've been a bit slow in finding this thread, though I did see mention in another thread that you'd been injured. That sounds like a really nasty one. I hope it all heals well and quickly, and that you're not in too much discomfort and can sleep ok. Great support from Mr Sandi and Annie (as we would hope). Our Annie (Border Collie - sadly missed) didn't like the smell of hospital on my wife when she came home after an illness. So instead of the expected welcome and fuss, our Annie hid behind the settee. Well done to your Annie. Get well soon.
Thanks, @Duckadiledundee. Nope, nothing hit me. No swerving involved. Brain fart on my part. We were noodling along and I wasn't paying close enough attention and hit Steve's back wheel. And the front wheel that gets it is the one that goes down! It's those easy, mindless ride you've done 200 times before they come back to haunt you. A good lesson. But a very hard one not to mention expensive.
Thanks, @Old phart phred. Yep, it was a road bike with those skinny tires. A custom built one that's pretty slick. And fortunately relatively unscathed. I've only ever ridden road bikes but have ridden and raced them for about 30 years. Hmmm, maybe this is a message?!
Thanks for the well wishes and love, @dilligaf. I can feel it all the way across the pond! And the consensus generally does seem to be "get rid of the bloody push bikes they are dangerous things in a tool of the devil!"
