Looks like it might have to be one of these by the sounds (ok do you think ?). I never liked Mondays ! http://www.tricor-andy.com/product/mudguard-rear-steel-68-70-500-650-rolled-edge-undrilled/
Morning Adie , thanks for that, I just spoke with him thanks nice chap , but he explained he is more for one offs and harder to find items and sugested , Tricor or Burton bits, which I think he suplied or did at one point .
Morning Tibster. Many thanks for that - interesting (and useful) to know that's where he's at with the business. Thanks for the response - and good luck with the build ... it is looking beautiful. "Good news thanks Now I am worried about my fue tank ! that cant be wrong shirley .. had evaporust sitting in it over night , will put a pic up , issues with badge fit damn those repro parts !" Aah, the eternal problem/challenge with repro parts. It's going to be helpful to others (me included, I hope) if you let us know which of the repro's you find needing some ....... ermmmmm ......... "dressing" to fit. Yeah, I know - ALL OF 'EM! But, some details of the difficulties will elicit lots of sympathy and endless gratitude from at least one member of your new, worldwide audience!
Please say I have the right tank , if its not I am going back to bed and hope to start the day all over ..
great would have felt demoralised for sure if it wasnt , just a shame my tank badges dont fit well is this normal , I fear so

That tank does look good , I have my paint now , think mine may be slightly orangierrr possibly , I chose from big colour chip book , I have come to the conclusion that if mine is slightly different its ok , basing it on the fact that most images I have seen of the 69's eh hmm all vary a little so as long as in that spectrum I should be ok , . I used darkmans as main ref but v hard matching so will have to see in week or so as to closeness. some pics of tank badge fit coming up , I will build area up slightly . I could grind badge edge and alter contour but worried about chrome flaking .
Yes in hindsight , I should of trimmed the badges and sent off with the wheel rims , a bit of lead has helped but may have to trim them , a royal pita . My parts supplier said they were a good item , but stupidly I didnt check . Hey ho
Carry on with the lead work as that's another way to do the job in hand, off out now for a ride on the modern Triumphs, catch you later
Another delivery ,this time mudguards . Front and back in bare steel , neither are drilled so hoping to do this tomorrow . Just wondering if its possible to balls this up .. Worried that I haven't got any wheels to put on and so cant check that I will have a nice even gap between guard and tyre , I am hoping that with the front if I mount the lower stay first this gives a fixed position and that when I have the guard centered with the indents central to the forks then should be ok ? is there any adjustment on the tear shape bracket that would bring the guard that would increase or decrease space to the wheel for fine tuning . Dont want to paint then find when the wheels on it looks a dogs dinner . Any thoughts or am I worrying too much . The rear guard I am hoping should be more straight forward . BTW as my old rear guard may be from TR6 would the rear light casting and hole centres still be the same ..
Ha ha ,believe me I have had my fair share of balls ups , one of the very reasons I spend longer these days thinking before doing ,a little wiser in my old age perhaps (sadly it doesn't always help ) , one the of the few advantages . Hmm , will have to have a closer look tomorrow but that is the thought in the back of my mind too.
