    Hello folks,
    I own a new 2023 Bonneville T120, 750 miles (don't get out much).
I got a recall notice from Triumph, notice SRAN627, Install Alternator Wire Alignment Clip.
Seems some wires in the connector system could abrade and short (my interpretation).

Celled my dealer and he indicated that the wiring area is behind the right upper removable plastic panel and behind the brake reservoir and that it would only take about 5 minutes to install the alignment clip. No engine disassembly. He would have to order the clip.

My dealer is 60 miles away; so, I am investigating if I could do it myself.
Has anyone attempted to remedy this situation themselves??
    Any help would be appreciated.
PS: I posted this on the Bonneville and Tech Help forum; will remove one or the other.

@RickM46 Did you not explain this to your dealer who i am sure will assist you as much as they can. Then next service they can inspect and notify Triumph the work has been carried t.

Joe, thanks for your suggestion! Yes, great dealership in Battle Creek, Michigan. He did not have the clip but indicated he would order it.

The dealership is 60 miles away; being a senior citizen, I do not ride long distances anymore; been riding since my first Honda 150 Dream in 1966; the Bonne is my 9th bike over my life; now, I just enjoy the short rides on my Bonne; have looked at the service bulletin and installing the clip is no big deal; would rather do it myself - at this time, don't care about documenting it with Triumph.

@RickM46 Yes and i am sure if you mention this to the dealer he will be fine about it. Perhaps do the job and send him a picture of the completed work.

I bet you can do it yourself. I don't know if the dealership needs to verify issue was fixed? Send them a pic maybe? My only other suggestion is to haul the bike to the dealership so they can fix it and then haul it home? I have used AAA to haul my bikes before. Just waiting for AAA can take ages though. Good luck!

Just received the new recall for a t120 since the clip is no longer used. They are bypassing the clip and straight connecting and crimping the wires. Anyone do it?

Just got a Safety Recall letter SRAN641 3/18/26 from Triumph for my 2023 Bonneville T120 Black.
It indicates that even if the Wire Alignment Clip from SRAN627 is done (which I did), that the repair in SRAN641 still needs to be done else what Alvin above showed occurs.
    The letter states:
'Triumph Motorcycle Dealers will replace the current 2 piece connector body with a single in-line crimped solution for each of the three alternator assembly wires; about 20 minutes.'
Installing the clip was easy; this fix is something I would let the dealer do.
Makes you wonder what other functions the connector block has; so the clip doesn't solve the problem??

    OK, guys here it is:
I have a subscription to the Triumph Technical Information website. The following is a link to TTIs instructions to the dealer to splice in new connections to avoid the burn problem.

Read their instructions and it looks like 3 black wires out of the alternator out of the engine block have to be spliced with 3 black wires into the main harness going up under the seat after the old connector block is cut away.

Don't know if you will be able to follow the link unless you have a subscription:
    https://triumphtechnicalinformation...db60c2927dfaf25e4?topics=13802360331&active=0

What could possibly go wrong: the black wires are not marked and the tech would have to keep track of which black wire splices with the next by their position into the old connector blocks.

I am not nuts about this fix.

    Well, just some questions:
    Why the original recall clip?
Was there a defect in the connector blocks?
Maybe susceptible to water/moisture causing deterioration? If so, I would just wrap a baggy aroundem.
Do the connector blocks perform some other electron management function?
Is there a way to replace the connector blocks?

When weather gets warmer, I am going to take a ride and shoot the connector block with a temperature gun at the beginning and end to see if the connectors are heating up.
