Hi every one. Forum newbie, took me ages to figure out to reply ‍♂️ Not sure if this right place but will try anyways.

I have 97 Daytona T595. I had the bike running for a about 10 seconds. Put into first two love bike up drive but side stand was out so bike cut out as supposed to when pulling off in first.

Now bike won’t start, I’m a hobby mechanic and done my plenty taking apart on my old cbr6f and carb bike easier to muddle through.
So I’ve changed spark plugs as needed service anyway along with oil, filters etc etc.

battery fully charged, turn ignition on kill switch off. Fule pump kicks in the cuts after a few seconds. Side stand up, Pull clutch and front brake Hit start button and the starter turns. But won’t start up. Doesn’t splutter or anything. Bike is in neutral and neutral light is on. If I put it in first and pull clutch same thing won’t start clutch not the best so bike bites a little in first (so I know when I’m in neutral).

fault I think has to be electrical, but first time messing with injection system.
Any tips where to start testing and common things that may play up after a side stand cut. Any help would be appreciated,

First time on here hope that wasn’t to much in one go. Thought I’d put it all down in one go lol

Worth a try, first injection engine for me. Everything I’ve had in the past has been carb which are easy to fault find through. Obviously with an ECU feel a bit a lost, maybe I’m just overthinking it lol. I’ll check my Haynes tomorrow and double check safety circuit clutch side stand etc. If that seems all ok I maybe asking for a bit more help hahah

Have you actually ensured the sidestand plunger switch is moving freely to make and break contact? Ditto clutch switch in the lever body. Green neutral light tells you that switch is ok. Your symptoms suggest ignition safety lockout somewhere.

im now waiting for my rear bobbins to come, so I can put bike on a paddock. To get switch off have to take off side stand bracket. With no one here to help me hold it up be awkward.

i agree it an electrical lock out. clutch switch works as engines turns over when pulled in.

Before issues the bike would start in neutral with side stand up or down. Bike cut out when I put it in 1st with side stand down. Bike jolted forward a little when it happened, making me first think something come looses. After that wouldn’t start again. will check plunger when my bobbins get here, today hopefully.

hooked up ohm meter to side stand connector. Lay on my back held up bike with one hand and move side stand with other. Plunger is making contact when stand up I’m getting 2 ohms across the contacts. Not sure if 2 ohms and 0 ohms would make the difference though

With side stand down I’m getting open circuit no reading which is good. now thinking throttle body connections. Throttle position, crank shaft position, air in take pressure, idle air control valve etc etc. Suppose I’ll spend the day testing through that.

Side stand switch working, took it off, cleaned it, bit of oil on the piston. And side stand back working fine. At the moment I’ve tank off, and air box off. Is there anything that I can check and test before putting air box and tank back on? Do appreciate any tips and trying to test while I’ve got the top off
