Hi great guys Please can u help the not been on the bike for a week took her out the garage today started first time went for a hour ride and stopped for a cuppa got back on her and she wouldn’t start or even try there was a Halfords near by so I baught and fitted a new battery and started first time off I went for about 40 mins then stopped for fuel now won’t start not even a turn over so here I am stuck in a petrol station waiting for recovery but why why why won’t it start it’s a brand new battery Please help
okay, sorry you are stuck there First the easy things, kill switch is in the on position Side stand up In neutral Clutch in Battery is still connected with a strong connection to the wires Does the dash/clocks light up Does the fuel tank pump charge up Is there any clicking from the starter solinoid
A more comprehensive list here: https://www.thetriumphforum.com/thr...art-try-running-through-this-checklist.12935/
With no charge at all to turn over the engine, it does sound like a solenoid...what year is the bike? Or more importantly, what is the VIN then check it on worldoftriumph.com daytona657 parts search
Just spoke to the dealer I baught it from they will pick it up tomorrow and find the fault Should I say to them about the solonoid
For the earliest 675, VIN to 381274 This looks like the part you need from the "Electrical Equipment" list (27) PFKL1201004 STARTER SOLENOID. FUSED £ 37.21 (€ 40.19) http://www.worldoftriumph.com/trium...ck_01=&block_02=100063043-0-2&block_03=610400
Thank you for your help it’s still under warranty so I am hoping that Destination tryumph Washington will fix this issue if not I will keep u posted
Just explain the symptoms as best you can, the decision needs to be theirs as to what is wrong. If they replace the solenoid and it still wont start, they will say you told them it needed a solenoid and you are responsible for the cost.
Ok thank you but I will fight this to the hill only had it 2 months and done about 500 miles not a happy chappy Again thanks

Keith, do you have a Datatool alarm fitted.... I had an issue on my old bike with the alarm fitted which meant the radio frequency around petrol stations prevented hte alarm dissarming...I had to push it up the road out of range and then I could de-activate the alarm
try second gear...or even third - it has a lower torque/ratio which makes the engine easier to turn over Just be quick on the clutch if it does kick start
