Have completed a few maintenance tasks on my T100R: Replaced knackered throttle and speedo cables, spotted and replaced almost broken wire between the coils, replaced split rubber boot on clutch cable/gearbox cover, adjusted tappets (all of which had no movement at all (previous owner, not me!), and inspected float levels.<br />

The floats I happily discovered to be the newer stay-ups, with new alluminium float needles, and new needle jets to boot (why don&#039;t people keep evidence of work...<br />

      <content:encoded><![CDATA[Hi all. In a bit of a quandry.  I am looking to buy a Tiger 100. Have seen a 1967 model. Not matching numbers a few oil leaks. Great paint although not original. Great chrome all round.  No history but photos of recent engine rebuild.  Starts first kick from cold and sounds really nice. Does £4k sound OK for something like this one? I know it&#039;s impossible to say without seeing it but is this possibly in the right ball park do you think?<br />

I&#039;ve just bought a (used) 2022 Street Twin 900<br />
I was slightly disappointed to see that apparently it does not have a tachometer (?!)<br />
Although I haven&#039;t taken delivery of mine yet, I thought I would do some research and look at the Owner&#039;s Handbook online ... <br />
The Handbook makes reference to a Tachometer on page 39, but ...<br />
There is no mention of how to display it - i.e. &#039;scroll&#039; the display to get it ...<br />
Obviously until I have her in my garage, I can&#039;t play about to...<br />

Been riding Hondas for decades and finally pulled the trigger on my first Brit bike, a gorgeous &#039;72 Daytona with 1,500 total miles on it.  Should arrive in a few weeks.  Seller has provided videos showing great sound, good shifting throughout, seems to run really nicely.  Can&#039;t wait for it to show up.<br />

Thought I would introduce myself. Have just rebuilt my Triton. It’s a 1960 T110 pre-unit engine in a 1965 Norton featherbed frame. It’s a collection of bits woven together, sometime hammered, to make one offs!! It’s a labour of love that never appears to be finished, according to the other half. Do have a couple of question, but thought it polite to introduce myself first.<br />

      <content:encoded><![CDATA[The T140 (and T120) bikes with single carbs have very little room for an air filter, since the single carb is pointed directly at the gigantic frame tube.  The popular Emgo offset air filter seems to be the closest thing to working, and it&#039;s what mine came with, but to make it fit, you have to crush the paper filter, and then it doesn&#039;t seal very well.  Maybe it works better with the original Amal carb, but mine has a JRC carb (clone of a keihin, with a special mount plate).  I made some...<br />

      <content:encoded><![CDATA[I have a &#039;72 Daytona 500 and she seems under geared to me. I&#039;m in 4th from about 45mph upwards. I know the engines are &#039;buzzy at best of times but I keep thinking about changing the sprockets to make her rev less at higher speeds (sacrificing a bit of acceleration of course.) All I seem to read around the Web is changing the gearbox sprocket from the standard 19 (which the previous owner said it has, although I haven&#039;t checked myself), for a bigger one - probably just up to a 20. But why not...<br />

After taking it off, appears as if someone previous had used some &quot;make a gasket&quot; tube crap that I had to scrape off both parts that took forever.<br />

The frame is a &#039;67 Cotton Cobra uprated by the factory to take the Triumph 500 engine which in this case is a &#039;69 Daytona detuned with 5TA barrels and pistons. Forks are Marzocchis.<br />

Started bike and it ran but then no lights no power.   Found the brown (i think) wire on the ignition switch (key) was not fully connected.  Fixed, it started and ran fine. <br />

 Hi all ...Thinking about buying at a 1971 Trident T150 with 10.500 miles been inside garage for five years... will not start needs carb work etc, so its a non runner? it has Texas expired  tags...owner wants 3,500....could it be a problem getting it registered here in California...and i know these bikes could cost $$ for parts etc.. i can do my own repairs, i was thinkin 3k what do you guys think....its all stock un molested.....<br />

      <content:encoded><![CDATA[So Iv been using my T100 as a daily driver for a few months now, finally got new tires and wheel bearings on it and it seems to be happy to ride. Starts up every time with little effort, sometimes none. Very minute oil leak, hardly even noticable over hundreds of miles. Gets 60mpg, basically it seems to be a great daily driver in my opinion.<br />
<br />
But, my trip is 20-30 miles per day mostly rural roads where speed limit is 65mph. Iv had the bike upto 70mph just to see what the vibration was like...<br />

I&#039;m new to this forum, but hoping someone can assist me with my issue of high oil pressure inside the in-frame oil tank on my 1973 Triumph Tiger. I have replaced the oil pressure regulator, cleaned out the oil filter, blown out all the oil lines and the crank case breather, but I still have a significant oil pressure problem in the in-frame oil tank. The bike runs fine, but when I take off the oil filler cap, oil gushes out the oil tank filler hole. I&#039;m at a loss to sort out...<br />
