Liked it but the bloody heat under the seat was unbearable so sold it. It was an early one so they are probably a lot better now
Thought the R would be that price But thought the GT was gonna come in at £19,999 keeping them both under £20,000 like Triumph said at the launch
My issue is reliability - early R3 were poor especially in transmission but sorted post 2012. Now let's see how the next generation stands up. Hope I'm wrong..
if the rockets a lemon thats me and triumph completely finished, after the shit show of an rs i bought. Lets just hope my rocket was made on a thursday this time.
All bikes that aren't used as a primary means of transport could be labelled as Silly money , but hey! we all earn our crust & have the right to blow it any way we like mate!
Yep you are correct Don’t disagree mate, as you say a personal choice. But I still think it is a lot of money for a bike..
Certainly has been a lot of R and D with bikes and they (arguably) now have tech that is not needed or requested by the end user. I bought a brand new Multi 1200 in 2014 for £14k (traded in two bikes) and you wont get a similar spec for under £18,500 now. Two things though. We are getting Ferrari performance at a low cost car price I think there has been profiteering from the companies on the intro of PCP. Its actually driving a false market on resale values at dealers. However - there is nothing dirty in the word profit. It keeps us employed! Profiteering is a totally different concept though. If we dont buy them, they will reduce the price with offers but while PCP gives the opportunity to buy new then they will be able to keep the price high
On this version they have locked completely the ecu unit. You will have no ability to map or remap - the American web site have investigated already.
At the price they now are, I still think bikes are better value than small cars at “Silly money”. In 2005 I treated myself to a retirement prezzie of a Defender @28K. Last year at 168K miles I sold it for 9K and now run around town in a Seat Arosa! Mother in law gave it to me when she stopped driving at 90 years. 2004 and done 10K miles when I got it. Good fun making that 1 litre engine keep up with pedal bikes and SOME mopeds around town. Makes me appreciate my BMW R Nine T when the weather lets me loose on it. Ken.
