You'll have to ask Triumph that one. Hydraulic clutches don't need adjusting so self compensate for wear. They also require less maintenance which is a big plus on an off road/dirt bike and you could argue they are ultimately more reliable. Cable clutches are cheaper.
i think they require more maintenance and if you drop the bike you are more likley to damage the hydraulic fuid pot than a cable, but my main question is why when clutch gearbox is the same on both bikes Triumph have adapted a cable clutch to have a hydraulic lever why?
In my experience, hydraulic clutches certainly do not require more maintenance. When you drop a road bike, I agree, the flimsy plastic fluid pots used for clutch/brake fluid are very easily damaged. "Proper" off road bikes have a much stronger design. The Husaberg has had countess spills offroad and even two on the road, one at around 40mph when it slid and hit the kerb and it escaped virtually unscathed! I don't know what setup the Tiger has but spot the difference.......
There's also the potential to reduce the lever force with a hydraulic clutch actuation. No idea whether Triumph have done that?
