First a few pictures I hope to find more information on the forum for my old Triumph. This is what I already found on the web. What I really want to know is the year it was build, the engine number is CD1934, frame number 1061 but is not that good readable. Additional information could be the number of bikes build of this model, any other survivors of this model. Any information is very welcome.
I think that ones is a bit before my time but might be worth getting involved with the TOMCC and the like but please keep us posted with any updates as it looks like a proper project :upyeah:
No worries i have all the missing pieces. My father got the bike for free when he bought 2 old cars, but that was before I was born.
That looks like an interesting renovation project Rob. If you have got all the bits, lt will make the job so much easier even if they are poor condition and you have to get some copies made. Contact Triumph or the DVLA with your engine and frame numbers to see if they can help. Good luck, I wish it was my project.
I suggest you email the Historian @ TOMCC and the VMCC (Vintage Motorcycle Club. I did that with the LE Velo Club whilst looking for my Dad's old Velocette even though I wasn't a Club Member. He was really helpful and got back to me the following day. I'll have a look on my shelf today sometime to see if I got owt. Stop press... I've found a pic of a Blue and Black one mentioned in the article and a lady called Marie Vernon riding one from "The Motor Cycle" March 1933, and a chap R Thompson trialling one again in 1933 @ The Ilkley Grand National. Hope this helps a little, great project.
Hi Rob, the only thing I can add is a translation of the word "culbuteurs" - in English these are the rockers that operate the valves. Interesting to note that the add says "Competition a Culbuteurs - which seems to refer to the rockers having needle bearings.
