I received my new wind screen yesterday and mounted it on my BMW R1250RS.

    The original one:

    The new one:

The size is nearly the same. The main different is at the top of the screen. The dark one has no tear-off edge like the original. I am looking forward to test it soon under better weather conditions.

Finally found the hens teeth on eBay:):

    IMG_3604.jpg

Just like waiting for a bus, waiting for ages then two pairs came along at the same time. This pair standard and in good condition for a fair price and another pair custom painted white, cheaper and lovely design but they wouldn't have gone with my yellow Street Cup.

Now to get the "Bonneville T100" labels changed for new graphics. Anyone know a good painter / sign writer in the Cheshire area who does good work?:)

Glad you finally got them Paul, I'm looking forward to seeing them on the bike.
I've had all my recent paintwork done by Ride & Restore in Adlington SK10 4NG, so not too far from you. The main man is Christian, I'll PM you his mobile number but their land line is on their website. They are planning a move to Pott Shrigley as the Adlington place is up for sale but I don't think they've moved yet. You can always ride over there and have a look round. I'm about 2 miles from them and you're welcome to drop in for a cuppa and a look at the bikes.

So Finally got round to attempting to fit these bars. What a nightmare:scream:!

Getting the tank off was the first saga with that fuel line clip:mad:.

Then trying to get a spanner on the nuts to take out the bolts. Cramped enough with Triumph's bars, almost impossible with the Motone cross brace at the bottom.

Anyway, I've managed to cross thread the lower right side engine mounting bolt, so need to order a new one. But now I've found that the washer on the upper right bolt doesn't fit in Motone's braced bracket!

How important is that washer? There isn't one on the other three engine mounting bolts, only upper left side. Triumph instructions and Haynes both say that the washer should be fitted, but what does that washer do on the upper left side that isn't necessary on the lower left & right and upper right engine mounting bolts?

Do I assume that the bracket will do the same job as the washer and fit without the washer?

Or is the washer mechanically necessary (why on the upper RHS only?) and therefore I have to try and find a washer that will fit?

    Help:scream:

I admit the OEM mirrors do get a slating on a lot of the classics but their appearance doesn't really bother me. I look in them not at them and they work well for that. Bar end mirrors draw favour with many riders but they're more of a liability in traffic if you like to filter and I DO NOT like sitting in traffic! :joy:

I was wondering about the stability (vibration) of them given the huge stalks they're sitting on

They're very solidly mounted and there's no blurring at all but then the big twin is a very smooth unit. Now if they were on a Harley....Oooooer!:joy:

I bought this cool cat seat for my bobber from Alex Leather Craft:

I am hoping that this will finally be the seat which makes riding the thing tolerable! (said while shaking fist through air)

I bought this ring tyre pump and extra extension pipe. Seems to work well.

I hope this works well for you, @Wessa. I bought one of these (though a different brand) and pretty much use if exclusively now for checking and airing up both my motorcycle and my car tires. It is so handy and also so portable!
