Hey, Laverda.. yeah.. Mine was a 1985 version. Last year in USA. Serial number 000006. The speedo stubbornly would not go above 85 MPH. Might have been due to the little peg that stopped the indicator and lack of numbers beyond... Funny the tacho didn't have that trouble. Fast enough to scare. Worried about the Pirelli Phantoms and top speed. Sold it in 1995, to finance Porsche racing. Boy, that was like standing in a cold shower tearing up $50 bills. Only will go fast on the track now. Too much uncertainty on the street.
I've got the RGS Corsa, RGA 1000 and Mk1 Montjuic. Never been over a ton with any of them. Great bikes
95 on my 08 T100 , chickened out at that speed,( I normally have flies on the back of my crash helmet!) This was on a private road somewhere Geoff
145mph on a Z1000 on the autobahn near Koln. in 1984. I was passed by a Porsche, and his tail lights disappeared within seconds. It felt like I was going backwards.
Those two Laverda triples are over geared in top (5th) is about 20 kph slower than 4th. If you gear them down (add teeth to rear) or one off the front sprocket and then get the jetting near perfect , they will rev beyond redline (7500) in top gear that's about 250 kph @ redline and I saw 11,000+ so 350/360 or 230 mph
Was surprised my 2018 Speedmaster was still pulling at over the ton , but saw the speedo at 175km and backed off, as 40km over is instant loss and confiscation in NZ Rural backroad with 500m+ visibility
Super bowl Sunday 2020, crested a big hill in a isolated road on the 19 naked street triple, could see for a mile. Tucked semi down and went for it and got to 147 I think before my helmet shake started to cause vision issues and I chickened out.
ZX10R has the facility to record and store your top speed - look it up! ZX10R has the facility to record and store your top speed - look it up!
Somewhere in the region of 145 on a gsxr 750 on the A77 between Cairnryan and Ballantrae. It was a friends, and I was delivering it for him. I think it might have had more (it had a nitrous kit, I went nowhere near that fecher) left in it, but I didn't fit in it right, not being 6 stone wet and Japanese! Had about the same out of a Gpz900r on the M6 between Creewee and Knutsford. Too busy holding on to know for sure! Took my Sprint up to Thurso before winter last year, and got up to around 110...very promptly I must admit, long straight between Reay and Westfield. Very nice
Oh... And I got 55 out of my Land Rover once. After the time continuum had restabilised and the vorteces had stopped their gyration, I realised it was the 21st century, and maybe the natives might get restless seeing such a blatent disregard fir safety. I mean, I wasn't wearing an anti grav compression suit or anything. Next stop, the dentist.... To get my fillings replaced, and my spleen removed from the back of my throat.
GPz750 Turbo, 1985, 150mph (indicated). On my way home from work, a long straight with a hardly noticeable curve to it, I was surprised how far I had to lean at that speed.
