Recently I bought a limited release version of one of my favorite gins, Hendrick's. I cracked it open this evening and am trying it as a martini using Vya vermouth (my favorite) and a lemon twist. it's delicious! That said, I think I prefer the "standard" Hendrick's. A blind taste test might be in order to make a final determination. At first glance (er, taste) I think I prefer the regular Hendricks'. But I'm thinking this limited release might be very well-suited for a gin & tonic. Have any of you had the occasion to indulge in Hendrick's Orbium??
It helped last night But I’m still under the weather this morning as I go to work MAN FLU is wor lass taking the piss out of me That’s the closest I get to sympathy
Ugh, sorry to read that you're still under the weather today. And that's always made worse by having to go to work feeling like that. I'll send you some sympathy, dilli, but that sympathy might lose a little steam (or piss) on it's journey across the pond. I was sick last week but am pretty much back to normal. Thank goodness! Mr. Sandi's and my holiday break starts this Friday and goes until Jan. 6th. I'd hate to waste a great work holiday by being sick. Hope you feel better very soon! Ya gotta be healthy for that new Rocket 3!
Hi Beerman, I love IPA's. Just googled this but the Hobgoblin IPA seems to come up under Wychwood Brewery? I'm not familiar with either Wainwright or Wychwood. Can you steer me in the right direction? I'm not sure it I can get this beer in the U.S. but you've piqued my curiosity. Thanks!
Whiskey Del Bac, a local distillery here in Tucson. They make several versions of a delicious single malt whiskey including one that's mesquite smoked. This is the unsmoked version that I'm drinking tonight. Delicious! A year or two ago we went to a friend's birthday party at the actual distillery. The guy's wife set up a surprise party for him and the distillery opened their doors for the party (of course for a price). The ambiance was really cool plus there was a band inside the distillery which is in an industrial area off Interstate 10 on the west side of Tucson. And outdoors there was a food truck. All those attending got to sample all of the variations of Whiskey Del Bac's offerings.
Guinness tonight. Hatherwood 'Winter Special' (5% abv/500ml) £1.29 from Lidl is also very nice. Tried one the other day - bought two more - 'cos I liked it - shortly afterwards in case I get a thirst on. Probably a Lidl own brand as it has their logo and address on the label.
Oh, yyeeeaaahhh..I mostly remember the "Friendly Fire" part, DD. If I haven't actually imbibed, it's a little tough for me to keep track of adult beverages and related recommendations. Sigh.
My local has stopped getting Guinness on draught and now gets it in pint cans, then the barmaid pours it into a class puts it onto a vibrating plate to make it frothy, I'm not happy about it as I think it tastes different, what do my fellow Guinness drinkers think?
I looove Mr. Sandi! And not only because of this amazing birthday gift he just gave me this evening (but this sure doesn't hurt any). I'll let you all know how it is.
Hey Sandi .... Happy burp day to you, happy burp day to you ......... Have a lovely day and many happy returns! Oh, and MERRY CHRISTMAS, too!
