That used to be a really fun tour - but I went there ages ago, as part of my customs and excise training (previous life, have seen the error of my ways since... ). Got away from it half inebriated... Don't know what it's like now.
No me either, it is just tagged on to second day of a trip to the DAF factory in Eindhoven, will be flying back to Southampton later that day so best not enjoy the freebies too much then!
Here's a "sister post" to my Sturgis trip thread. Geez, I've never taken so many photos of cocktails and beers until I started hanging out with you guys! I'l post a few pics of what I was drinking and where during my Sturgis trip. If you've read my thread posts about our trip, you won't be surprised that I don't have any photos from the ride TO Sturgis. I was just happy to find a Bud in a can at a convenience store in Ft. Collins after a 510 mile day with a ride through Denver in the middle of those miles! The Nugget Saloon in Deadwood on our first morning at the rally. Seems these Black Hills folks like to make their Bloody Marys their morning cocktail AND brunch!
And later that day at The Knuckle Saloon, I found The Knuckle Brewery's IPA to be quite delicious. When in Rome......
What I was drinking on Day #5 in Deadwood. A little afternoon refresher (a nice IPA) from Sick & Twisted Brewery out of Hill City, South Dakota . Dinner at Legends Steakhouse in the historic Franklin Hotel. I had a delicious Drumshanbo Gunpowder Irish Gin martini with a twist and Mr. Sandi had a Stoli martini with blue cheese olives. And we both had slabs of Midwestern beef. Well, my filet was regulation size. Mr. Sandi's prime rib was ginormous!
Day #6 at the Sturgis rally Last night it was filet and martini at Legends Steakhouse in Deadwood. Tonight it's burgers, fries, and beer at The Boar's Nest. Oh, and a corn dog for good measure! I had both the Deschutes and the Elysian and Mr. Sandi had one Shinerbock. He's a lightweight. It was a bummer that The Boar's Nest had no craft beers on draft and they had no local beers at all. But I sucked it up (literally and figuratively) and suffered through the Deschutes and the Elysian. Deschutes is from Portland, OR and Elysian is from Seattle, WA.
Day #7 at the Sturgis Rally Well, on the last night of our time in Lead, South Dakota, we learned that the restaurant right near our hotel has a large craft beer selection. 50 in fact! Guess we should have checked it out on the first night of our stay at the Blackstone Lodge. Oh well, better late than never, eh? I selected a Dogfish Head IPA called "Slightly Mighty", a low-cal IPA. Paired it with a nice pulled pork sandwich. This photo is from a couple of days ago and was taken in Sturgis on Main Street. The folks around here sure do like to get their meals in the form of Bloody Mary's!
How would you like your steak sir?, cut It's horns off wipe It's arse, and slap It on a plate is the Texan answer.
@Dozers Dad most restaurants sear the meat for presentation and then cook in an oven for prescribed time to order. This allows the meals to be brought out together and to temp.
It's the vintage classic know as Aldi 1897 French Lager tonight as I couldn't reach the back of the top shelf to get at the San Miguel's! Average. M'eh
