That was a good intro to this, my next post: I got a George Dickel Tennessee No.12 from the Easter Bunny ... ...and just had a glass of J.D. No.7 and the Dickel to compare. Very impressed by the latter! It is a good deal smoother than the Jack and does not have this unique aftertaste that reminds me a little of paper-glue. Don‘t get me wrong, I like both, but George would be my weekend choice vs. the Jack as the everyday working horse. Oh, is it weekend yet? Thirstday? You must be kidding...
This place is where I am most Friday nights :- http://www.churchinnsaddleworth.co.uk/ If you scroll down to their cask ales, the one I drink is on the right, St George's. A superb quaffing ale, so cheap I've never checked the price but around £2 per pint or so. A real coal fire and friendly bar staff who will go the extra mile.
Been back from gigging for about an hour... on my second pint of Stringers IPA with a Jim Beam chaser... just to chill out as it were!
And you slag me for drinking budweiser !!! I've translated the Polish on the bottle. "warm filtered through 3 people before you drink"
More beer from my Dutch connection. Got a crate of this stuff for €10, including a nice Hertog Jan plastic crate. Bloody nice it is too
