Of course you know that once you open it it has to be consumed within 6 months or the more subtle notes will evaporate and it reverts to the level of a cheaper drink. Perhaps this is a challenge you are willing to accept? :)

I found this interesting table in the outdoor area of a local bar ("The Bar") in the town Güssing, in the province called Burgenland.

We're currently in Ohio visiting Steve's elderly mom and the rest of his family. I drank a toast to Steve and his brother, sister-in-law, and sister just now as they engaged in a compelling :joy: conversation about UFO's, ancient aliens, Area 51, and the like. Yikes. They talked. I drank. :joy: I did think my beer choice was a good one under the circumstances, though. ;)

@Helmut Visor, I recently bought a bottle of the Bombay Sapphire East that was on sale. So far I've only taken had it in a gin & tonic but thought it quite good. Thanks for the recommendation! :)

You are very welcome @Sandi T, I think it's certainly the better end of Bombay Sapphire ;)

Thanks once again to you, @Helmut Visor! I made myself a refreshing gin & tonic this evening with that Bombay Sapphire East that you recommended. The current daytime temperatures lend themselves to an evening cocktail like this one. :yum:)

I've just bought a Guinness nitrosurge gadget and am well pleased with the results. You have to buy the more expensive nitrosurge cans but it's really quite effective. Just have to see how fat I can get now I can have 8 cans of Guinness and don't even have to walk to the pub and back.

I'm working on cutting back a bit on my alcohol consumption--not out but down. So I've heard from several folks that the near-beers brewed by Athletic Brewing Co. are pretty good. I thought that might be a good choice for my "dry days" when I really still feel like drinking something that seems like an alcoholic beverage. Other times I might have a tonic and lime sans gin or something similar. Here's one of the alcohol-free beers I sampled recently. It was pretty good, I have to say! It's definitely like like drinking a "real" IPA but with food like a burger or pizza--or popcorn!--it does the trick.

Tesco sell Adnams Ghost Ship at 0.5%, it is really refreshing and tastes of beer, if you want to keep under the limit or go easy on the real stuff it is pretty good stuff.

In the afternoon we had some blueberry Christmas punch at the Christmas market in the city of Salzburg.

And in the evening a glas of white wine ("Welschriesling") at a great dinner in a restaurant.
