Well, nobody's perfect. My Dad never liked bikes so I guess that makes us even.

Just about to pop the cork on a Bottle of Wolf Blass Cabernet £2 off in Tesco certainly helps rinse the Lasagne down.

And now that you know the "other meaning" of swingers party, you can use the beer bottles photo to throw us off the trail, @DCS222. ;):joy:

How dare you!!! Swingers party’s are where you drink beer from swing top bottles with a group of your close friends... if you end up being naked and probing the depths of Pavličev and Wagner’s “Evolutionary Origin of Female Orgasm” with your neighbour’s wife... then that is purely coincidental!!!

If you want the honest and slightly sad reason... I have taken up an interest in home brewing again, and I’m saving up the swing tops for my experiments with home brewed ginger beer... I’ve never made a carbonated brew that I’ve bottled before and I know these aren’t just “show bottles” designed to pretty up a house... they can take a bit of pressure! And the bonus is, when I buy these bottles, they come with free beer inside!!!

    Top tip coming up....

DO NOT EVER buy those one bag homebrew kits!
The type where everything req is already in the bag & you just add water.
I got one for Christmas 1996 (yes, it's engraved upon my memory)

Filled it with water on Christmas day & stood it on the side in the kitchen to do its stuff. I couldn't help thinking how great the timing of the gift was. I think it needed to be left for 28 days?
Brilliant, cos I'd still be drinking Christmas booze until then :grinning:

Then one night before the 28 days was up. We were awoken to what myself & the Mrs were convinced was a gas explosion!

But there was no smell of burning & the house still seemed to be intact.
So I went downstairs for a look.
Yep! you guessed it. The pressure release valve had failed on the homebrew bag. The kitchen was covered from floor to ceiling in rank smelling beer!

I buy beer from the supermarket now. It's a f#ck site cheaper than redecorating a kitchen! :(

When I was a kid my parents used to make “Elderflower champagne” and they’d bottle it in lemonade bottles (glass) in which it would brew a little longer to self-carbonate. We would get the occasional bottle bomb explode, just because you looked at it funny... leaving a fizzy, sticky, glass ridden mess to clean up

@Callumity, I'll go out on a limb and bet that the destroyed room incident was at least partly related to your "one and done" university stint? ;)

Not if you never let it out of your sight Erling. Left to its own devices it can be a proper naughty little tinker. Consequently I never leave it unsupervised! :yum  :p

    BTW...
I did get what you were saying & sadly you're correct mate :(

“How long have you hired them for?”

    “Oh, about 20 foot!”

“But 20 foot is a length measurement, not time?”

    “I know... 40 x 6 inch = 20 foot and I probably will have finished with them by then... “ ;)

I'll crack a bottle of supermarket red.

I'll raise a glass to Dozers Dad.
