No worries. What happens if you cannot board your flight? Do you have to find a hotel until you are clear?
Thanks all. I am 5 %better today. I dare not even ask what happens if I’m still positive …! Will ask that in the next day or so…Fingers Crossed
I'll keep fingers crossed and be sending negative vibes your way, Oldskool. Or I guess I should say I'm sending positive vibes for a negative results. Keep us posted! What a cluster....... Sorry your holiday turned out this way.
Thanks Sandi , this forum has been invaluable whilst I’ve been feeling pretty rough…! Here’s what I SHOULD have been drinking these past nights, Mojitos with Mrs Oldskool..
A classic Manhattan made with Restoration rye. I'm enjoying cocktail hour in the back yard while it's still cool enough to sit outside!
Same time, same station---different day, different drinks and snacks. Still enjoying lounging in the back yard while the temperatures cooperate. Last night it was an Old Fashioned and pita chips. This evening it was a gimlet over a big fat ice cube paired with almonds.
Still cool outside and I'm still on schedule...... I'm really liking Old Fashioneds these days and am especially enjoying trying out different spirits while keeping the rest of the recipe constant. This evening it was an Old Fashioned using Tullamore DEW along with some dry roasted and salted cashews. Very smooth, very nice.
A good friend whom I've not seen in some time got together for happy hour yesterday evening. I was in the mood for a good martini so asked the bartender about their gin selections. They had a few gins that I don't see everyday including the one I chose, Drumshanbo Gunpowder Irish Gin. I decided to give it a try and am glad I did. That stirred together with a splash of vermouth and a lemon twist made a terrific martini!
Day 12, 6 to 6 days other 12hrs on call, and they keep telling me they're happiest when I'm not doing anything. Who am I to argue?
Are you an ambulance driver or fire fighter, @Peter B?? Maybe a trauma surgeon? I'm trying to think of who might be happy if they are happiest when they're employees aren't doing anything.
Mr. Sandi and I invited a couple of friends over for dinner recently. They have both recently become whiskey aficionados and they've come over to our place previously to sample a few of the bottles we typically have on hand. This time they insisted on supplying the whiskey--Michter's Bourbon--and they insisted on leaving the bottle with us, too. We drank it neat when they were here. This evening I used it for a delicious Old Fashioned.
