On one of the rare occasions, today, when I actually get out on a bike. I get flagged down by an older than me geezer. Looked pretty important so did a proper stoppy next to him on double yellows. He then proceeded to tell me he has a T110 pre unit. "Is it for sale?" I ask, just in case it's one of those that's been in a garage for years and he'd like to out it. "Oh no" he says "I'll never sell it." Jeez....."I think I'll go home now...."
I had the pleasure today because of a summer thunderstorm with my TIGER once again in "submarine mode" to "dive" my 60 km over the highway to the office. But I could also have switched to "flight mode" because the wind direction would have fit.
Not today but would last week be OK? Three more pictures and a write up to follow if a tech dummy can manage it.
The rest, I went to the first Antler Rally at Kilchoan on the Ardnamurchan Peninsula in 1972 and didn't get farthest travelled so I went again in 1975 and tried to do the four corners on the way but problems with the T110 meant that I didn't get to the top end. The next year on a more reliable Suzuki GT750 I got as far as Inverness before beaten by time but got the farthest travelled both times. all told I attended all the first eleven Antlers. 2022 as birthday treat for myself I left home at 4am on Wednesday to Ardnamurchan Point,- Dunnet Head,-John O'Groats,-Lowestoft,-Lands End,-lizard Point and arrived at the Fosse Riders Clubroom in Leicester at 8.30 on Saturday morning. Job done 4 corners and end to end in one hit,, can I retire now?
@BATEBY45 I reckon you can retire now, yes . What a feat - I have just had to Google the Antler Rally and educate myself!!
STS self cancelling turn signal module. Not an easy one but some 4 hours with test bulb, soldering iron and shrink hose it's done. Just a short test run but works as expected.
Well done, that's a great achievement, what was the total mileage? PS hope the weather was kind for you!
Thanks, a little rain on the A12 otherwise fine, very windy down the A9 coast road but sunny mostly. Total mileage 2,352 average speed over the 50.6 hours of travel time was 45.6 mph. I don't recommend Cornwall's back roads in the dark but theA30 was brilliant day and night.
How was the road to Ardnamurchan? i did it years ago on a sports bike and hated the single track road, ive never been back since, although i have been wanting to go again now that i have a more suitable bike.it would only be a 300 mile or so round trip so it would be a nice days ride
I've never been that far out west, but coming through Morvern down to Lochaline, then west to Drimnin, have taken the ferry to Kilchoan. Morvern is just gorgeous. From Lochaline you could take the Fishnish ferry and explore Mull.
