What have I been doing with my Triumph today? Nothing. Nothing! It’s bloody freezing outside, now stop asking.
Only 3 for our southern group ride today, so we did a favoured forest/coastal loop with a lunch stop for fish n chips. I took a detour on the way home for a refreshment and saw our dealer service manager on a rider safety poster Sorry guys, was a spectacular day
Managed to get a 100mm M8 bolt in the rear on the Tiger Sport. So new Pirelli Angel GT2 today. Could have done without that.
Well, had yet another "f**k it" moment and took her out for a quick errand despite the cold. If I go 2 days without riding the bike seems to call me from outside like a lonely pet. So I jumped on and headed over to work to grab some documents then slipped into "the usual" again on the way back to get out of the cold for another quick refreshing sparkling mineral water with organic lemon wedge and spring water ice, and got the news that FrankenHarley guy passed away suddenly a few days ago. Left the bar, went home a couple miles away, and just checked out not long after getting settled in. It was the very day I took that previous shot of our bikes parked together outside. I remember watching him start her up, warm her up, and blaze on down the road all aped-out and looking the part. He had maybe an hour or so left to live. As it turns out supposedly he was only 60, but he looked closer to 80(he chain smoked hand-rolled cigs). A career long hauler, he was a biker's biker who lived the hard biker life. The Harley dude who championed Triumphs. I'll miss our conversations.
Been going over my Tiger 800XCx in preparation of a trip out west. Doing all the standard maintenance plus adding some extra USB outlets for charging camera , phone , gps , ect. Come on spring !!!!!
Wow, what a stunning story and turn of events, @Gogotha. We just never know when our day will come, do we?
Took the bits I wanted off the Street Scrambler after it getting it back from the dealer. The bike has been written off by the insurer and I got, more or less, what I wanted for it and they also agreed I could keep the bits and pieces I'd added since buying it, plus the optional parts of the "Scrambler Kit". Mixed emotions seeing it sat there in the garage in such a state and knowing it's fate but time to put it behind me and move on. A new one is reserved and waiting at the dealer so it's new bike time again!
Yesterday I adjusted the suspension settings on my new Street Triple R. The rebound and compression adjustments are made on the top of the right hand fork leg where there are two adjusting screws. How on Earth do Triumph expect you to accomplish this I do not know because the bars are immediately above these screws. Any tips on how this is accomplished without taking the bars off would be most welcome.
Don't they have some kind ofspecial 'screwdriver' for this? May be wrong - usually am - but I thought it was something like this .... https://suspensionsrus.com.au/index.php?route=product/product&path=111&product_id=447 ... or am I on completely the wrong track here?
No, you are spot on the money. But $29 seems a bit stiff. Will make my own. Many thanks for the info, much appreciated.
