Topped up the striple for mrs. V's first solo ride tomorrow (yes, we have fuel readily available... ). Prepped the sat nav for her, too. Off to the hairdresser's she'll go!
Nice afternoon ride up to the Blue Ridge Parkway. The temps were actually a bit cool. Fall is definitely in the air, though the trees aren’t really showing any color yet.
Great photos @OsteKuste , the yellow sits nicely against the blue sky (lucky git)! @Sandi T ... does that mean there will be a dessert storm of flowers and plants trying to mate?
View attachment 132832 OH, THE IRONY ...... under normal circumstances there'd be protestations aplenty about putting a helmet onto newly coiffured locks but, hey, it's a Street Triple and a ride so .............................. cry "FREEDOM!" Nice one Mrs. V.
My TIGER 1200 had the brake pads on the rear wheel replaced today after 22.100 km. I think my dealer / workshop (www.gesslbauer.at) is quite favorable. I have paid € 88.70 for it.
Final jaunt before heading back off. Hard to believe I only did about 250 miles in just over a week. Yes, we do have proper taverns in the States. When you see it...
Are those Altamas? I ride in a pair of the Urban mids in black camo. Had a couple pair so far, my favorite casual or hiking footwear.
As weather was nice, if a bit windy, I went for a 3 hour ride to check out my latest seat upholstery experiment. When I got back the local petrol station had no fuel (of course), so good job I prepared for this a month ago and could give bike an infusion at home...
The flowers and plants have been mating like crazy this summer, @DCS900! This monsoon season in Tucson is the 3rd wettest on record so things are lush and green. Unfortunately, though, the insects are pretty happy and mating like crazy, too.
Installed a custom map from DNK to my Thruxton R. Primary reason was to get rid of the majority of the deceleration popping which was getting rather tiresome in built up areas. Only managed a short run after installing it but already I can tell its made a huge difference. Much nicer at low revs, smoother through the gears and definitely a bit more oomph out of the corners. Still a bit of popping on the overrun but nothing like it used to be. Overall very pleased!
Went to Oulton Park this morning for a Bennett’s rider confidence course with Shires motorcycle training. Aim to refresh my 37 years rusty low speed handling skills (only had my Street cup for about two years and most of those have been locked down). Excellent teaching from friendly down to earth bikers, helped me rediscover my riding skills and confidence.
Had to run a couple of local errands today and thought I'd do them on my Triumph since Speedy and I got rained out this past Sunday. Nothing too exciting--but doing ANYTHING on a motorcycle makes it more fun!
