THAT is a thing of great beauty! To my eyes there's something so pure and timeless about the early Hinckley designs. ... they weren't slaves to contemperaneous fashion, though they were constrained by the modular build concepts, and they managed to marry form and function so well. Nice.
Cheers Adie, gotta agree that the early ones look megga. I had a 95 900 which was better to ride(seating position) & a lovely bike. I only bought this to save it from being broken up & so glad i did. I`ve had this bike on the back burner for 5 years now so was chuffed to bits when i actually got it running nice. Then it pissed down first time i got it out the shed. The only thing for MOT im concerned about is brake discs being marginal. Engine runs lovely & very responsive so cant wait to get it on the road.Work etc says that will be next week. Photo`s make it look far better than it is but im not going to chuck thousands at it to restore it. Its staying original warts n all. keep fixing em up in the sheds boys n girls!
New front tyre and new ebc hh’s on the front. C’mon heatwave and bloody hurry up! £16 fitted to a loose wheel and balance too. Including disposal! Motoduo in Kettering (Uk) Granted, a bit of a boring post but I got my hands greasy , which is the main thing!
Rode down to the Pendon museum OX14 4QD with the Fossil Riders from Northampton. It is a model railway layout with lineside buildings copied from old farm and village buildings from between the wars, has an audio description set up so you self guide around the exhibit. If you are into model railways it is a good show.
Had a new VIN label fitted (stuck on!) under warranty. I'll probably cover it with some additional clear plastic of some sort to protect it from the wiring.
Went up to the Peak District for a days chilled riding, great weather, great scenery. Only downside of the day was riding with a wet arse from the Welsh rain that had soaked into my seat foam and crevasses last weekend.
took my new 'baby' (No24) for a spin for the first time loving it ... I've been looking forward to joining the Triumph family
Had this for the short ride home and back to dealership while mine was being sorted. Couldn't really give it real gas but it's definitely there! Very light and nimble and very torquey. but I felt lacks the beefiness of mine. Totally different bike I guess.
Another shout out for Trevor at Sprint Manufacturing. Ordered new foot peg & rubbers yesterday at 2pm. They arrived by 11 this morning & now fitted which neatens up the old gal a little bit.
Had a few jobs to do in town so took Speedy. About 60 miles later caught up with two highly amusing old timers.
