Took bike in for its first MOT today, only comment from tester was "I can't fail it for being dusty", cheeky bugger . So with fresh MOT pass I paid the road tax and now all I need to be legal for another year is to get a sensible insurance renewal quote through - not the four figure or 'computer says no' responses I had two years ago
Actually yesterday, but went out for a couple of hours on the Thruxton…. and then had a couple of pints in my local
Went to the sammy Miller museum! All I can say is wowsa. Only things I bought were a cam shaft and conrod coat hanger and a shell oil can/spout thingy for the chop sticks we have accumulated (her idea!) for the kitchen. Well worth a trip though chaps.
After doing the fork bearings and fork oil last week I decided to finish the job and do the front wheel bearings. One was fine but the other had rough spots. Tigger also got a bloody good clean whilst it was on the ramp. It’s a struggle to do a good cleaning job when bent double with a bad back and knackered knees. Now looking forward to riding with some friends to Goodwood tomorrow morning. Unfortunately it’s an evil time of day to get going - 08:00 hrs…
Im often out before that this time of year! Best part of the day, usually beautiful and calm, and never a sinner to be seen on the roads
Bought an upgraded soundtrack for my Speed Twin I filled up at the pumps with E10 fuel. Within a few hundred yards from the pumps I thought the popping and banging on the overrun seemed more noticeable. Imagination or a side effect of the additional ethanol?
I had a run down into Shropshire on the thruxton. Had to stop for a cuppa and bacon buttie at Ma Bakers, lovely . It was quite busy at the Raven with loads of interesting bikes about.
Had a bumble while Mrs D and her mate were watching the tennis. Got a bollocking of some irate woman driver for 'speeding in a residential area'. I wasn't by the way. I think she just never saw me coming and Arrows frightened her . Anyway here is a photo just for @Vulpes The Brown Horse at Winster
Thanks for that @Dawsy ! I know the place well! The inlaws used to be just up the road to the left from there (towards Cartmel fell), and going up to the right from the pub the people lived who owned the horse I had my first proper hacks on - fond memories...
