Black Widow Exhausts, very pleased with the quality and the price, they even sent a tube of firegum with it which I didn't even need
I know the feeling mate, since I got my SM back in March ( lockdown 1) I have managed about 3500 miles..usually I do about 5 or 6 a year depending on the Winter weather. Tiger looks a great bike, Im a bit of a short arse so Speedmaster is ideal for me! Hope your well and the reason your not out and about is the same reason we are all missing miles, stay safe.
Unfortunately I’m waiting for an operation on my neck I also need to be examined for my shoulders but everything has been cancelled because of this Covid shit show Jack Daniels helps
You don't know @dilligaf do you ? Phrases like not trying to teach your grandmother to suck eggs come to mind. Quadruples would be a mere snifter.
Well , CAPT had new plugs and an oil change. No change he still knocks ! Put white rag over right hand muffler exhaust port , went light brown oily in just a few seconds. Conclusion engine will have to be pulled out and at least partially striped and reconditioned. Think rings have gone !!
Cheers Guys, it was looking a bit much earlier and I was using a LOT of wire. Hopefully better with some paint on it, I'm thinking about putting it on a T120R engined chop. The US flagged king sportster tank might be ok on it. If not it'll be nailed to the wall.
Yeah, I was thinking about just applying a lacquer but, too late, I've started so I'll finish. Primers and some brush work so far, loads more hand brush to do before I get the ol' airbrush compressor running - we'll see.
Well not actually ridden or done anything too capt yet. But been on gumtree and found a Donar motor . Sent messages etc , see how it goes. $750 plus about 300-350 to freight. Beats the $1600-1800 from bike wreckers ! So Here's hoping I can get this motor only 17000km old , only need the bottom end , I hope I'll only need rings for the pistons , as I've not pulled it down yet , I have yet to discover if the barrels , rings or pistons are the problem. Only been internet browsing/shopping for a few days and hopefully I have got a deal !!
Wessa - thanks very much, it's not clear coated yet. I'll probably use a matt. The colours are done in acrylic with a paint brush so all ok there to sit around indoors in the warm painting away. The 2 pack clear coat will not like the temperature however so I'll wait for the weather to warm up a bit. Note: for those of you doing your own painting, you need a 2 pack (ie resin paint with a hardener additive) for petrol tanks, don't bother with anything else even if they say petrol resistant, they are not. You do not need any specialised spray equipment these days for a clear coat, there are in built 2 pack spray cans available, which work very well and can be polished to a mirror finish.
This past Saturday (I know, not what I'm doing with my Triumph TODAY), Mr. Sandi and I rode to a late lunch with a riding buddy we've not seen much this past year. It was a rather blustery day and threatened rain but fortunately we stayed dry and reasonably warm. Our friend had suggested we ride on Saturday rather than waiting until Sunday because rain was predicted for Sunday and Monday. We decided to ride to Mammoth, a small town 45 miles north of Tucson, to have lunch at a great little Mexican restaurant there with outdoor seating. We were wise to follow his suggestion because it has been raining off and on for the past two days. Our buddy was on his 2008 Triumph Rocket, Mr. Sandi was on his Harley Street Glide, and I was on my Speed Triple RS. Actually, my Speed Triple is currently my only bike in the garage! Both my Harleys are at Tucson H-D, one for new handlebars and the other for a warranty repair for some shifting issues (shifter pawl problem). I can now use this an an example for people who ask, "But why do you need three motorcycles?" It was really cool that when we pulled into Mi Pueblito, a Street Glide Special exactly like mine was parked in front of the restaurant! And I parked right in front of it. I wound up talking with the owner for awhile and we discussed what we'd each done to customize our bikes. He and his friend, who was on the other Street Glide in the photo, were also from Tucson. He shared that he'd bought his bike from a salesman at Tucson H-D who I know well. What a small world. Notice on which bike the sunbeams are shining. Mr. Sandi and our buddy with a cheese crisp appetizer. I had the posole which is outstanding at Mi Pueblito. They serve it with delicious fresh flour tortillas made on the premises. I walked outside and just checked my battery tender, since I'm not riding anywhere soon..... checked my battery tender, since it doesn't appear that I'll be riding soon....
