I think not, mate. Just a regular service interval check. Should have been done at 40K kilometres, but that mileage passed when I was in France. So I'll hear next week when he's checked.
Spent a couple of hours stripping all the silver bits off the bike today, I’ll get a couple of quotes in for anodising then get them sent off. I also removed the tank in preparation for the T120 one I have arriving next week. Gotta say... this bike is a piece of piss compared to the BMW I did last year - loads easier. Im thinking of getting some Hebco & Bekker crash bars for it, purely for looks mind... opinions welcome.
I'll keep doing my best to send some blue sky cheer your way, Wessa. I truly know that I'm lucky to be able to get out to ride. Truth be told, we probably should be on lockdown here in Arizona but since we aren't, Mr Sandi and I are going do a few things that feed our souls--like ride. We'll just try to do them as wisely and safely as possible. I hope that you get better weather along with the freedom to move about again soon. Hang in there.
Not sure if this should go here as it's about what I have NOT done with my Triumph. Decided to hold on replacing the plastic tank hose couplings with metal ones eventhough I currently have the tank off the Daytona. Although it's a common mod, I read too many cases of this 'easy fix' becoming a bit of a 'mare because the plastic ones can break when removing them. Decided to apply the 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it' mantra and concentrate on other jobs. DS
Weather is pretty gloomy in Iowa. Moved the battery charge around to all the bikes. Spent most of the afternoon with two of my neighbors, clearing the pack ice off the road on the hill. It was impossible to walk out there and even the trash hauler had trouble getting up. 3 men + salt + shovels = clear road. This is what community can do. Take care all who are under prison lockdown, as it is extremely detrimental to your health and well being. Boredom, depression, bad eating habits, no exercise, excessive drinking, no social interactions all combine to destroy your immunity. You immune system is what keeps you healthy.
I went all the way to the garage, 25 paces from my armchair and checked to see if it was still there....It was.
Now that’s clever. You’ve moved my garage door to the other end, must remember that when I go out for my first ride in Spring or August or whenever.
Regular monthly TRMCC ride, this time we teamed up with the Waikato chapter and rode to Raglan. Plenty of twisties on the way there and not too much road shrapnel Lovely seaside town with good seafood restaurants and plenty of bars. We went to Wharf Kitchen and Bar Stopped in at a popular bikers favourite, Muddy Waters Irish bar on the way home.
I got tired of waiting for better weather, so with the skies clear and the temp at a brisk 3c I decided what the hey. The roads were mostly dry until I headed up into the mountains where the snow that was melting off the trees soaked the roads. The bike got a good rinse when I got home, and the MucOff MO94 I coated the bike with at its last wash let the salt rinse right off.
Really wanted to pretend it was a good day for a ride so I coerced handsome husband into a short ride this afternoon even though he kept saying it was a bit cold...asked me if I wanted to look at the wind chill chart...nope! Been waiting to fit in a few more miles so I can inch closer to breaking in the T100. Today the sun was shining, our chores were done, and the kids didn't need anything. On went the layers and off we went at the warmest part of the day. The layers handled the chill just fine but my right hand got too cold to go much further than just over 50 miles. Calling the Triumph dealership as soon as they open tomorrow...nope, dang it, Tuesday...to order heated grips to be installed when I bring it in for the 500 mile check. Indulgent but I'm hoping it'll be worth it many times over. Would have been a perfect ride, even if short and chilly, if we hadn't run across a short stretch of road just about 3 miles from home that had a crew working a water main break...so now my bike looks like this... I guess we could have left the bikes in the garage and they would still be clean but where's the fun in that? I have an appointment with HH tomorrow to wash them. It's not riding but I'll still be ogling the bikes.
Bikes, cars, twisties, the sea, good food and drink, and good buddies. It doesn't get much better than that. Thanks for posting the great photos of your day, @Dartplayer. Looks like great fun!
Beautiful photos, @OsteKuste! Love that yellow bike of yours. What's the scoop that bag you have on there? I'm always looking for ways to add a smidge of storage space to my Speed Triple.
Thanks, Sandi. The bag is a repurposed handlebar mounted dry bag made by Lomo, a Scottish company that specializes in making such things. I have their dry bag panniers as well. I just ran the straps that hold it to a handlebar around the frame rail under the seat. It’s enough for a wallet, sunglasses, extra pair of gloves, etc.
