Well, it meant when getting to a junction, instead of turning my usual way, I went the other. Though I did cheat somewhat, as I have a satnav, and planned some of the roads the previous day by scouting out what they're like on Google street view.
Launched the snorkel out the airbox of my Speed twin. Sounds much better on big licks of the throttle. Love the honk.
Today I have mostly been looking at my insurance policies as some idiot went up the back of my new Speefmaster 888 miles yesterday evening!! I was stationary and they just ploughed into the back. My girlfriend was on the back. Luckily I kept the bike up but his front bumper was wedged between my tire and rear mudguard. It took me and a witness 3 attempts to get my bike off. We both have whip lash and a few aches... I am with Carole Nash and a company called 4th Dimention have offered to do the repair work. They say they are Triumph approved but I need to know if they are any good? I would prefer to use Triumph but my local dealership went bust and the closest one to me says 10 weeks before they can look at it...the next closest is mid August before they can look at it.... Can 4th dimention be trusted to do a thorough examination and repair?? Thanks
Bad luck mate. Don’t know about that company, but your insurance company should be able tell if they are an approved outfit. Good luck
So terribly sorry to hear about the accident, @Herman66. I’m glad you and your girlfriend weren’t hurt worse but so very sorry about your new bike. Good luck sorting out your insurance and hopefully your injuries and aches will heal quickly.
Hi Mate, firstly sorry to hear about the accident, thankfully you or your girl weren't injured. 4th Dimension were the company appointed when I crashed my KTM RC8, they repair all makes of bike so should be more than capable of doing yours & as it is accident damage they specialise in they should be good at it, compared to the average Triumph dealer who are more used to routine servicing than carrying out accident repairs. I say should as I can't comment on their quality of work as my bike was written off, but my dealings with them were fairly positive.
I would fit another number plate and tape it up until Triumph can do it, my mate has just had a van repaired by one of these approved bodgers, they are approved for one reason and that's because they are cheap :-(
Thanks Billy, thats good to hear, my worry is that my bike will be taken to some huge holding center near Heathrow (which is where they are based!) and lost...so I may go for the dealer option...I take your points though, thanks for your imput.
