Problem solved

 

I WAS going to ride it to work today, but suddenly the (aftermarket) turn signals and brake lights stopped working. So, I'll be trying to figure that out one evening this week.

 

The Multimeter is always a useful tool to have Duck, knowing how to use it is another thing but if you are playing with wiring then get one, whatever you do take care mate ask questions before going in blind, we don't won't a singed and crispy Duck.

 

Alton Brown has a great recipe for that. The crispy part, anyway.

 

Have a bit of faith Duck, with help from this forum I am sure you will master this problem

If that is the name of the previous owner of the bike on the end can, then is it any wonder that you're having problems with the bloody thing??!!
And presumably it has already survived the fires of Hades so chucking a bit of petrol over it and then lighting it will have no effect whatsoever 'cos it obviously doesn't burn. Looks like you're stuck with the old girl!!

 

Changed oil & filter plus air filter today, it cost me £53 in parts so not too bad.

 

Your fuel tank support device would make any mechanic proud, Shaun! Very resourceful.

Fitted a crankcase breather filter on the cafe racer

 

Fitted a new set of Hagon 2820 (UPDATED 2810'S) with rebound adjusted by allen screw.
Now got a set of IKON to move on.

 

You may have found your problem all those cuts in the wires may be shorting/arching.
