Just another bumble out to Mudeford Quay getting some more miles on the new engine with Su, Tracy and Alan joined us for the ride as well and apart from one dickhead who was wandering around with no idea of social distancing it was great to get out again.
Hi Sandi it’s a 2017 which had 17k on the clock when I got it in December upto about 20k now! Definitely one of those bikes that makes me smile every time I see her
Cleaned and Diamondbrite polished both Streets. Hoping to meet a friend on his Thrucky R later and take a bimble up to Bridgwater - he wants to test ride a Ducati. I might have joined him but I still don't have my licence - had to return it to DVLA because of their rules on gerontology!
Local run trying out a couple of small SW-Motech Tank Bags. The base of the larger one is magnetic - easy on off, felt secure but unsure about scratching my tank. I won't use again on the tank until I fix the adhesive protective film provided (unlikely until I do a proper trip).
I had a magnetic tank bag and found lots of minute metal Fragments would get under it, I didn’t have protective film on the tank tho.
Many thanks Crispey - I'll look out for that and see what else can be done - last thing I want to do is damage the paintwork. Straps came with it so I can also attach to the rear of the seat as a contingency.
Not sure how strong the magnets are on these things but I use this stuff under my tailpack on the Mille Saves the paintwork and decals from scuffs and rubs from both the straps and bungees https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00DVP0HSG
Caution - I used this stuff with my Legend Gear tank bag and it marked the matt paint on my tank, not permanently but needed to work hard without polishing to get the pattern out. Recon its a matt paint thing so gloss should be fine
Agreed. I use this when loading anything to the paintwork on my bikes. Last time I used it was on my speed twin under the tank bag. IMO it works really well at protecting your bike...
