Thanks Duck: The whole family has the serious "motorhead gene". Me. His uncles. His Dad is a.heavy aircraft mechanic. His older brother only 4 is already exhibiting signs of this tendency [freaks out over anything mechanical]. Gota' love them. Little guy is named "Lachlan". I should be able to see him soon. …J.D.
Washed the dirty Speed Twin and fitted a Pyramid Plastics Fenda Extenda. Took the XR800 for a nice little ride and decided the tyres REALLY need replacing soon.
didn't get time to pick it up Saturday so the shop delivered it back to me today, though I was not there having to be in work. started it up when I got home, seems fine, lets hope this is it and many miles of breakdown free motorcycling await. Sadly I wont have chance to get out on it before Saturday when the weather forecast is dire, though I will get out for at least a local ride regardless
Took the Speed Twin out for a ride today to Middleton-in-Teesdale. Some cracking roads around that area. Cold but had a great time. My GSXR1000 is not getting much attention off me these days !!
Well not so much 'What you been doing with your TRIUMPH today??' as hopefully what I'll be doing tomorrow. A trip up to the Yonderman cafe for one of their glorious bacon and egg butties! Oldfart
Well got back to the Sprint. Had to go dig it out of storage and bring it over to the garage. Found out it broke the cable guide where it adjusts at the hand control. I am going to attempt to epoxy it back together. That should save me having to disassemble half the bike to change the cable. ...J.D.
Hey ! That stuff sticks pretty good ! I had never tried that brand before. I usually use Loc-Tite Plastic Bonder, but I could not find any this time. ...J.D.
Managed to get home from work whilst it was still light and went for a local ride in glorious but cold sunshine
Monsal Dale Head in the Peak District - funnily enough only a couple of miles from that fine emporium that serves the best bacon and egg butties and where I had to revisit today to collect my frozen thumbs which fell off there yesterday. Oldfart
Big ride over our national holiday. Joined the Waikato chapter ice cream run to Pokeno, then off for fish and chips in Kaiaua. Twisties on the way home for good days riding (188m/300km). Ngaruawahia Pokeno Kaiaua
