Removed fuel sender unit from Daytona and ordered replacement. Decided gotta get a move on with this job - garage is getting too cold! Now added 'heated garage' to the 'if we win the lottery' list DS
Done nothing with me bikes, cause I dropped my laptop this morning and cracked the screen joint to the body. Had to buy a new one and spent the best part of the day setting it up. Bloody technology
I feel your pain, I've worked with computers for over 35 years and they get more frustrating year on year... it's called progress
Today did the front brake pads ... The front pads are from the left caliper , So much more worn than the right hand at the rear , left caliper was doing all the work . This is the super glue and baking soda repair to fairing/side panel locating lug Working fine after three weeks . Did brake bleeding and changed pads in 44° C , it's still 42°+ and it's 14:10 hrs , did brakes around 11:00 hrs Frick it's been hot last two days.
Like you I had a very long career in IT and even with that experience it still takes an awful long time to rebuild what has taken years to build. Still job now done and all working well....
Not sure if this is in the right place as not mine and its not today but yesterday..... My STRS needed a warranty service so took the opportunity of test riding to utilise the time. First off Street twin
Quite liked that although after the RS took a bit of re-programming the operator especially with no rev counter. 2nd gear kept catching me out as the rev limiter cuts in at 70 mph Quick progress could be made as the torquey motor on country lanes was quite a joy to use. Liked it
Next was of course the Speed Twin. After the first hour or so on the STT my hands were now starting to feel the cold so a coffee stop was in order. A quick blat up to Seaways and I had the car park to myself. A lovely sandwich and coffee awaited me and i always find the food here very good, far better than Squires.
I promptly came out, jumped on the Speed and now with drying roads whipped it back to the shop. Everything felt natural and it was as though id been riding this a few months. Yes i could live with this and did like it but it didnt offer me anything that the 765 couldnt. Of the Street and Speed twin i think i would pick the Street as it had a certain quirkiness which i found attractive.
Never been to Seaways but I agree about the food at Squires. In fact I'd go further and say it's absolute shite.
Never been to Seaways but that image invokes in me happy memories of coffee, cake and being at peace on the bike. Cheers! Oldfart
Mate someone's dropped some horrible rabbit feed on to your breakfast bap, I'd take it back and complain
Maybe Duck, you and i need to go for a blat about and you can show me the error of my menu choices Did you get your headlight mounting sorted out?
Washed, waxed, oiled the Street Triple and prepared it for hybernation, its all covered up now for the winter. Ordered a new belly pan as the current one is covered in stone chips, and showing its age. I discovered the Bonneville has a rear puncture , which prompted me to order the center stand kit that I had been considering. So when that arrives, the rear wheel will come off for the puncture repair and then the Bonneville will go in to hybernation also. Winter is so frustrating
