Not sure how kosher riding round the park is but the dog walkers don't seem to mind if your respectful
This https://www.bbc.co.uk/scotland/sportscotland/asportingnation/article/0024/print.shtml is an interesting take from Stanley Woods in the febrile competitive atmosphere of pre WWII Nazi Germany and Guthrie’s demise.
In fact one dog walker guy stopped and he was telling me All sorts about how many engines Hislop blew up and his lucky break came when Dunlop broke his arm giving him better bikes. Everyone was really friendly and not anti biker or shocked to see a bike riding round
Apparently the museum is worth a visit for bikes but the times didn't work out for me. Times posted for future visitors.
Went for a ride to the Ton-up Day at Jack's Hill Cafe on the A5. It was heaving, hardly room to move, but great to see so many bikes. Excuse the crap pictures, there were loads more bikes than shown, and some fantastic classics...I just forgot to take more pics
today I changed my chain and sprocket. just for cosmetic reasons I wanted a black sprocket and gold chain.
Went for a ride on one of my favourite routes to West Bay for an ice cream then back via the Jurassic coast road for views like these
Today I've been playing with string, a shelving bracket and some wood... As I've done nearly 10,000 miles and never checked wheel alignment I thought it something I really ought to get around to doing. Ended up turning the left adjuster one and a half turns then though hmm.. as I've not noticed any symptoms of bad alignment before, perhaps I'm just setting myself up for problems now, or, if it ain't broke, why am I trying to fix it?' So decided to break out the chain alignment tool I'd bought but never used as it required taking chain guard off. With that, things looked OK, but didn't really trust it to be an accurate way of doing things so needed a plan C. That was to use a steel ruler resting on the chain and edge flat onto wheel hub, using that method I ended up undoing the adjustment I'd done with string method. So after two hours of faffing about and getting hot I have probably made a net zero difference and no nearer being sure if my wheels are correctly aligned.
