Went to the Sausage Cafe on the A5, had a lovely breakfast and was looking at a Boss Hawg, first one I've ever seen, pretty awesome thing. Then went to Triumph Woburn, had a cup of tea, was tempted by a second breakfast by the aroma from the cafe but settled for a free top up of tea from the 2 lovely ladies that run the cafe. Cheers
Cat and Fiddle run - Buxton to Macclesfield. On to Matlock Bath then back home to Wolves. 160 miles. A good afternoons riding.
Went out for a shakedown ride on the Daytona this evening. First real run since it’s back together and it was great. Nice and smooth, no overheating and no coolant being thrown overboard, which was a nice change. One issue though was the oil light was on at idle at one point though it didn’t look to be at full brightness and it was still on, although very dimly, throughout the ride. I’m thinking I may have a failing pressure switch, has anyone else had this before? There’s plenty of oil in it and it’s new oil too.
Leycester overnight to Kununurra today A walk to the Loo and come out to see this , he was tail end Charlie , the rest were beyond my phone camera range. And a wallaby as promised from our Fitzroy Crossing camp. View attachment IMG_20190601_065211.jpg
20th day today , three weeks on the road tomorrow. We have seen so many Eagles and Hawks. Missed getting them on video So So many times. And yesterday Brenda caught them in action, we were doing about 70kph when this shot was taken. Two in flight and several in the tree, couple of crows and an eagle lower left branches.
Well, 120,000 klms done on the America, now 4,400 odd klms from home and this happens... Stopped at Warmun road house, spotted the Gear Selector Shaft Seal had popped out ! Lost about 3/4 litre of oil. Pushed back in and so far it's been good (200 klms) Now in Kununurra, staying two nights , going to leave Camper in town and visit lake Argyle tomorrow.
Thats tent, sleeping bag, a weeks worth of clothes, stove and food plus a spare pair of shoes. Who needs a humongous trailer (@dilligaf ) or uncomfortable rucksack to go camping The tank bag would be zipped half height if it wasn't for the food to leave some spare space.
Did a 100 mile blat yesterday taking in some of the Somerset levels, stopped at Sweets cafe there for lunch on route
Had a run down to the coast - near Newhaven (pretty countryside and villages nearby). The town itself is a bit of a dump so best avoided. The Harley folks didn't come out to play - they claimed it was because they're off on a Fly-Drive holiday to California next week (renting HDs of course) and weren't allowed out by their wives. I think the real reason was because there is a Hells Angels outing to Brighton this weekend and there's one thing that Hell's Angels hate, and that is a bath. No, that's not right - what I meant was they really dislike 'weekend' Harley riders... This is a picture of Tigger and the Japanese Twins (non-identical) stopped off for a break overlooking the sea. The Japanese Twins are enjoying the view - I think cheeky Tigger had his interest peaked by a young lady in a skimpy top... Sorry the scenery isn't as nice as that in some other folks' photos and that there aren't any dingos, Wallabies, Eagles or pterodactyls in the background. There is a whale though, if you look really hard... Damn - it must have dived just as I took the picture! It was definitely there Edit: I just noticed that there is actually a genuine shark in the picture - no bullshitting this time! Edit number two: I’m a dopey sod - there’s a bloody great tiger in the photo too, how could I miss that - white ones are Snow Tigers right?
Front brake was a bit soft, so taking advice from @Mark Slattery and @Sprinter I put a cable tie on overnight. Key was loosening the reservoir lid. Rock hard now. Cheers guys!
No photo - can’t have happened. In that town and all the chip shops, I may simply have mistaken a whale for one of the local lasses... easily done. Stop the press - one of my riding buddies got a picture. Here u go.
Shame about the average speed cameras on the "cat and fiddle", but still makes for a good ride.... were there many bikes up there today?
