Got up early and did a 70 mile sprint to get close to the required 500 miles for the speed twins first service this week. I have struggled a little with getting miles on, with my holiday and then in the last 10 days have lost two uncles and my 57 year old brother. Life can be a real bastard at times.
So for now have two funerals before I head out on my Ireland trip on the 8th June.

Rode up to Caffeine and Machine, just outside Stratford upon Avon https://caffeineandmachine.com/

Traffic coming back via Moreton in Marsh and Stow was a bloody nightmare, but it was a cool place to hang out for the morning, although slightly pretentious, it’s well worth a visit. Take a side stand puck as they make you park on gravel :(

Oil and filter change last night. Then I took my Bonney to its birthplace and had a look in the Triumph Factory Visitor Experience...if only I were rich I'd love to own a vintage beauty like these gorgeous things...

There were a few mobile speed camera about in Leicestershire today, sneeky gits were waiting on the exits to villages just a couple of yards from national speed limit signs coming out of a 30 limit.

Replaced the rectifier on my Speed Triple 2010
Cocked up the first attempt my feeding the wires through the frame to strip the end off and then proceeded to use solder connectors, then realising my mistake and having to redo it
Done a decent and proper job now and the charging voltage is now 14.1v at tickover and goes to 14.5v at running speed 0.5v above it pre upgrade rate.

So having previously upgraded the starter motor loom and now the charging loom the bike is nicely upgraded where electrickery is concerned

Starting is much stronger with the motor turning over faster on start up and now the charging system upgrade results in more charge to the battery and a cooler rectifier with less stress on the stator

Went out on the Speedy today. IMG_20190525_143518.jpg for a 150 mile jaunt taking in Loomies, the two Triumphs slight left and centre ish of the pic seemed to be in special paintwork, the blue Speed twin was two tone glitter paint, looked quite something in the sunshine, quite quiet there which surprised me being how gorgeous the weather was.

I agree, bought mine in a pack from TK Maxx a couple of years ago, they’ve managed to get me out of trouble a few times.

I was once doing, many years ago, a customer's XR2 head gasket. On rebuild I dropped a dowel down an oilway in error :mad::mad: bollocks!
Umm what can I do without resorting to fishing after taking the sump off......

Bendy thumb grabber stick in reverse, umm that looked doable.
Entered it down the hole and once bottomed expanded the four legs. Dowel clamped from the inside by expansion and came straight out.

Excellent tool if you haven't got one then you need to buy one as so cheap and effective :p

Fun ride out through Red Rock National Conservation Area with friends. Roughly 13 miles of nothing but curves, and nice smooth asphalt!

Yeah it’s pretty tough. As they say, no one likes to suffer in silence, so I figure I’d post pics and make others share in my misery, lol.
