anybody out and about on their bikes thiis weather or just me? amazing what you see ! bit of a mystery to me
Weather's been good here. Went out on the bike with the Mrs. for a spot of lunch then spent the rest of the day cleaning the bastard after the Italy trip.
Took it further apart finding yet more bodge connectors, wrong size screws and general neglect, hopefully gonna get it fired up tomorrow.
Explorer, it is a triumph one BUT it also says Not for use on Speed a triple R!!! It had a warning on the main package and again on the screen... Very strange and I can not think why. My dealer thinks it may be because the screen was not homigated for the Speed R when they registered the bike.. I changed the front cowl for a carbon one from CC as I did not want to drill the original. To be fair after 4 days in Germany it was brilliant.. Made a massive difference for me.. I have a satnav on the bike and when it is attached it causes very bad turbulence/ buffetting around the crash helmet. The screen has sorted it...I also think it looks good.. It was not the one I actually wanted but it was the best I could find in the time allotted...
Cool I have a mount like that for the Drift but did not think it would work on the tank... Will try again.. Worst case am going to stick it on the side of the Helmet... Bit fed up of the low mount pic from the radiator.
Pullled the bike out of the garage got on it on the way to work, not running late so I was behaving myself and not going over the speed limit (40) following some cars at a reasonable distance over a crest and some silly $&*!! woman in a people carrier decided to stop in the as there was road works on the side of the road, all the other cars stopped and I had no where to go apart from into the back of the last car and more or less ended up in his back seat. The bike front forks are bent and my mint Trident is no more ..... Or we will see what the insurance company have to say about that any way. I'm sure as its a £2000 bike the will write the thing off 9 years without a claim and then as soon as I get a sensible bike this happens.
you will have to wait and see what the insurance people say ,you might be able to make them an offer for it and repairs it as long as the frames ok ,but sorry to hear it did look really good
Not good news, hope your ok though... Does look like the forks have taken most of the damage, wheel does not look too bad... You may be able to get them rebuilt, you can buy the inner chrome tubes...
Cheers guys I'm ok, Just feel like I played a game of rugby against a team of Samoans and they have all hit me at the same time, but nothing broken, although a quick brain scan didn't find anything. Ok this is a bit spooky but I have just picked up a set of Forks from Epsom on Saturday, so no issue there. I also need a new exhaust for the left side, left hand handle bar and clutch unit, front mudguard, headlight surround as well as left side foot peg and gear lever. The tank also has a dent in it. I have asked if possible that I can by the bike back as long as the frame is ok so I will have to wait what they say. Still got to go and pick the Daytona up from Taunton this week so it might be a fairly sedate trip back home I'm thinking. Still gutted about it though. Cheers Steve
