Well not exactly today, but yesterday... Gentle (1st outing in almost 2 months!) ride over to the Ponderosa for lunch. Fish n Chips beside the car park and heard a familiar sound (from way back!)... Last time I saw one of those in anything like that condition was when it and I parted company against the back of a car at some 30mph back in 1967! (the brakes never did work!) It arrived in company with this which just had to have it's pic taken... Fish chips and tea finished it was a stroll around the many machines coming and going before heading off to meet up with a mate and his Fireblade. Ride out to Lake Vyrnwy was delayed somewhat when rounding a bend and finding this in the road... Not a great end to a ride for this guy (lost it on the bend when braking for a car I believe) although we had a good laugh with him while doing traffic duty for the medics (I guess an arm full of morphine makes you happy) Haven't included the close-ups so hope he doesn't mind me including this one - did hear back from him later - shoulder relocated and on his way home to face the missus... On to Lake Vyrnwy... (Helmet mounted Drift Ghost camera and mic.) Vyrnwy - YouTube 8 or so minutes here along the south shore from dam to top of the lake - definitely not a sporting ride (too narrow) but quite pretty. Note: Nothing happens! bb
I did had a quick run up the ponderosa too. I saw that triton, really loved it beautiful bike and really nicely finished. There was an old Ducati 900 café racer up there too that I really liked
Tonight I have been mostly trying out the new front pads - phew, £110 not wasted, different bike altogether! Confidence back up to at least 95%
Sometimes, when I'm really hoofing it, I like to slow down before a corner! (Sometimes quite quickly, actually) x
Last time I did that I ended up getting a free Helicopter ride as well as two punctured lungs and a fractured T1 verterbrae. Morale of the story Never trust BMW power assisted braking!!
To the guy on the early blade and the chap on some other bike that came by afterwards to check that I was ok, after I stopped on the hard shoulder of the M6 to check that I had my wallet. Thanks for stopping and good to know that bikers still stick together and offer help in the way that car drivers never do! Made my day a bit more palatable after a stressful day at work and getting a £50 fine for dropping a cigarette butt in Birmingham City centre. To the guy that watched me smoke said cigarette in an area where there are 0 bins, building work, litter everywhere and go on to give me a fine. -You're still a c*nt! (Nice to have somewhere to rant now and again!)
Went to bike night at Alton Hampshire loads of old bikes there and got some good feedback with regards to the Trident and talked the usual rubbish that you do at these things. Also put one of the new blue headlight bulbs that came from Fleabay in the States and made a bit of a difference on the way home so it's all good
Today I have mostly been getting the bike ready for its trip to Italy next week. Been a bit of a twat, to be fair, but it's sorted now. Ventura rack on (the twat), chain oiled, oil checked, tyre pressures checked, nuts and bolts checked, JD level checked. Seems like we're sorted! :upyeah:
