Serviced the rear brake caliper and I’m glad I did cos there was just the beginnings of some corrosion around the pad retaining pins. Having read about people having to drill them out after rounding off the Allen head cos they were stuck tight they are now lightly coated with copaslip which should make removal easy for next time.

Today I pulled the clutch / primary cover off on my 2009 Bonneville America, clutch has been slipping a little, might have something to do with the work done on the motor (big bore kit & porting the head) When I'm towing my 115kg camper trailer in third or fourth gear @ 4 or 5 thousand Rpm's and open throttle wide open , the clutch can't handle the power ! So I pulled the primary off and put 15% stronger springs in..! Found that my clutch wasn't put together quite right in the factory ! The four bolts holding the clutch basket and springs together hadn't been tightened down leaving the actuator to move freely as it should ! Check out the youbtube clips you'll see what I'm talking about...! All sorted 2 hours all done test ridden all sorted, going for a ride tomorrow for mine and SWMBO's birthday's mine is 21 Jan and Brenda"s is 1 Feb (tomorrow) looking forward to 20 to 30°c top's and moderate winds and hopefully a trouble free ride .

    Cheers capt

Well took my 2009 America for a 250 klm ride today, stopped off at a café in gingin for lunch and then continued round the chittering valley and home. Bike ran sweetly all day and no leaks from my work on the clutch, which worked faultlessly all day , happy as the proverbial pig in $hite ! Now I will be able to get the Dyno work up done in the near future and see what my bike can push out at the back wheel, I'm thinking somewhere in the 70 HP range, high 60's at least !?!?!?

Wife had a good day too, but her back is now playing up, sciatica ! Hopefully all will be good tomorrow !

I've checked it and it is the wrong way round, although it took a bit of searching to find the one on the tyre sidewall.
Normally they're quite easy to spot.
Got to admit, I hadn't noticed any problems with the handling...
Once things warm up it'll be going in to be changed while the recall's done.
I checked the rear and that's OK.
