Seat height is about the same. I think it is the RE handle bars that are higher, so it looks bigger from the front...
That is a beautiful collection of bikes Wessa. Cant wait to hear your thoughts on the RE. It looks the nuts with that tank. Havent seen that one before. Congrats on the new bike
I will do a review once I get a few miles on the clock. I did 50 miles today, just bimbling at 35 to 55 mph running in. Bike feels light and responsive even though it is only 47/48 bhp.
Been looking at the new RE 650's for the past year since I test rode the Continently GT when I then bought the Speed Twin. I was considering a classic bike and looked at a few over the past month or so, but the Enfield at £6k with the three year warranty won the day...
Believe it or not it was her idea.. I did plant the seed mind you and then let her play the decision back, Win win mate.
Yep 47bhp provides enough to have a play in the lanes and B roads, which is why I got it. The thruxton provides the extra power if I feel like a real blast and the tiger for touring and general riding ......
FFS! When we all retire do we all get as many bikes as we want? Nice one Steve, that other old grumpy pensioner has got a lot to live up to now! that’s @Tiglet he should have enough satnavs for 3 bikes by now.
Late to this thread but congrats on the new bike, @freck! Hope you're having a great time with it since you picked it up. How are you liking it??
Mystery solved! Congrats on your new Royal Enfield, @Wessa! It's a beauty. Love the photo of your trio, too. I'm sure the three of them will get along swimmingly. Enjoy! Nothing like a new motorcycle to make one feel like a little kid again.
Thanks Sandi, it’s great, although I’ve now got an enforced 3 week wait to ride it again, waiting to get the first service done.
Glad you are loving your new bike, freck! But I’m sorry about the three week enforced wait. I can feel your pain. I bought my new Street Glide glide in early May so I’ve had it six weeks. So far all I’ve been able to do is sit on it and making “vrooom vrooom” noises and polish it once in awhile. Well, and order a few goodies for it in the meantime too. Well, you’ll be all that much more eager to ride it in three weeks time and appreciative as well!
You are a lucky man @Wessa .... 3 very different bikes to choose from , best keep one as a 'wet' bike to cut down on the cleaning!
Lovely that mate, I know have 4 mates with Superdukes ..... B@stards are making me miss having a road bike ....
