Mark Taylor Yes lots of people remove the balance box and fit the x pipe I did aswel when I had my 1200 bonnie but did not like it. Seemed to give the engine a hollow sound and did nothing for the power or performance. That is why I have just left my 900 59 with the balance box on and changed the silencers for Norman Hyde. I love the sound. It pleases me and it doesn't annoy the neighbours. But its a matter of choice. Ride Safe & Enjoy Joe.
