Has anyone had any experience with these guys? I'm on a k9 Street Triple R & had a leak in my radiator at the connection between the RH tank and the core, marked up the area where the leak was coming from and sent the rad off for these guys to weld up. They called me to say the core was too corroded to weld and that it would need re-coring. I thought this was strange as the tank aluminium was in good condition once I air ground the flaky paint back. I asked West Mercia to take the tank off, remove the corrosion with a wire brush and re-weld. When they refused to take this on I phoned up another radiator specialist to see if they would do the work; response...no problem. Asked West Mercia to return the the radiator which they have but now the radiator has mysteriously got a hole in the core where it looks like they have attempted to weld (not even in the area where the leak was coming from). My thoughts are these guys are a bunch of opportunists looking to re-core every radiator they can get their hands on rather than trying to help a customer out in the most cost effective manner...pretty pissed off with them to be honest! Here's the hole https://secure.shoeboxapp.com/photo...bad95309b225bd5f8c351c85109a3917c06d812f47302 Is there anything i can do to recover costs as this will now definitely need a new core / radiator...
Just to give you guys an update, I sent the radiator off to Northern Radiators with the instruction to re-core it. Got a call from them when they received it saying they could repair, they've done an awesome job at a fraction of the price of a re-core. To summarise: Avoid West Mercia Radiators Use Northern Radiators - http://radiator-repair.co.uk/
As a referance to anybody like me I have wondered if any body has a place to fix oil and water radiators?.
